Is it possible to add an option to a page that will collapse spoiler text or images into a node that can be expanded? For example if a paragaph gives away the ending of a game that paragraph can be collapsed into an icon that can then be clicked to reveal that portion of the text.

It's probably possible, but would it be worth it?

It would have been worth it for me just now because I accidentally saw a Persona 3 spoiler.

I think that spoilers should not be on a games wiki page. A wiki page should have about as much story as a review would have. If you go to the Chrono Trigger page it tells you the entire story from beginning to end in detail. Wiki pages are for info about games not a play by play of the story.

There isn't such a feature on Giant Bomb and for good reason.

We're a site dedicated to gathering as much information about video games, developers, publishers and everything related to the industry and that means pages within our Wiki database need and must include spoilers to be as informative as can be. Users should realise that by now when entering a game's specific page in the database that they are putting themselves into a position where reading the article may result in them finding out spoilers about the game.

Having spoiler tags in the middle of an article really defeats the purpose of having an open database of information. If you don't want to get pieces of a game's plot spoiled for you after it is just released then it is probably worth not enterinng its page until you've played the game yourself.

In the case of Persona 3 it has been out long enough that having such a feature for spoilers for this particular game seems a little redundant.

Yes, but my suggestion will still have the information on the page it would just not show it unless you specifically want to see that piece of information.  Sometimes I'd like to gather certain information about a game so that I can decide whether to buy it or not, for example, the list of characters in a fighting game. It would be nice to be able to read about the characters and have the text that reveals their specific ending hidden behind an expandable portion of the page.

When reading about video games, you should expect spoilers. If you're reading about a game's plot, you can expect spoilers. If you're reading about a character, there could be spoilers anywhere after the first paragraph.

Spoilers should be contained in the places you would expect, e.g. a named plot section, or a characters main description. If you don't want to see spoilers, don't read those sections. It's not rocket science.
