Last year

Motorbike and Ride to Hell: Retribution are responsible for two of the best quick looks of this year, because both of them look like completely broken piles of garbage. That Walking Dead game and Aliens: Colonial Marines at the very least do not explode when you play them.

Best worst game quick look goes to Ride to Hell that's for damn sure.

I have played and completed both Aliens: Colonial Marines and Army of Two:The Devil's Cartel, and I have to say I think they're OK, and are better than CoD: Ghosts.

Aliens: CM is the most straight joyless, broken game this year. A game being enjoyably or ironically bad precludes it from being in the running, I think.

It almost feels unfair to include COD Ghosts, Beyond and Battlefield 4 in the same list as Colonial Marines, Survival Instinct and Ride to Hell... almost.

I would toss Gone Home on that list. I was not impressed and I got duped into wasting 5 mins reading crap by its hype train that was about a mile long. However Aliens CM was a total shit show and grabbed my vote and money and I am still bitter. Ride to Hell was so bad it was funny. That hair. Bioshock whether you want to be a hater or not doesn't hold a candle to Aliens CM or RTH in the garbage department.

Ride to Hell baby. Aliens just doesn't quite have the charm to be the worst game, it is vaguely competent at a few things.

Battlefield 4 does not even remotely belong on this list. Neither does Beyond or COD: Ghosts no matter how dull that game is.

There are a lot worse games out there. Take a look at facebook for a start. Poll invalidates itself with the inclusion of games like BF4 and CoD...disapointing? maybe....worst? just no.

theres a difference between personal opinion and general consensus. Your opinion of gone home doesnt align with general consensus, so including it here would have been wrong

Couldn't agree more. That's why I think the last 4 items on this list don't belong on it at all. There is no way that anyone can objectively look at any of those games and make a sound argument for any of them being contenders for worst game of the year, especially when they're grouped in this list with the likes of Aliens: Colonial Marines and Ride to Hell: Retribution.

From what I've played at least, Survival Instinct fo' sho'. It's all the worse because it had some interesting ideas that were completely nullified by the combat and generally terrible execution.

Also, confession time: I never thought Colonial Marines was all that bad. In fact, I thought it was kind of fun. The marketing was a shitshow, and it's not anything like the game we all expected back when it was first announced, but I enjoyed it.

X-Rebirth

I doubt this will get brought up at all during Giant Bomb's "most disappointing game" discussion later this year; if it does it'll be an easy win. This game was in development for 7 years, and fans of the series couldn't have been more excited for its release.

Egosoft could have mailed every one of their fans a bag full of human shit and it would be a better experience than X-Rebirth.

Ken's Rage 2 is fun and not nearly the worst game to come out this year.

Definitely Walking Dead. Holy crap that game was brutal.

Over half of these games shouldn't be on here. I understand not being a fan of a David Cage game, but I enjoy them (and a lot of other people do) after accepting their flaws in gameplay and storytelling.

Also, why is COD and BF on here? I get it, you're not a fan of FPS's, but that doesn't mean that the game inside is bad, just predictable.

Ride to hell is bad but its not as bad as Aliens. I like Ride to hell.

Ride to Hell: Retribution seems to have been a terrible game all around, but I don't think anybody expected otherwise, if they had even heard of it before the quick look, and if you dig around a bit, there were likely lots of terrible low budget games that passed below ours or the staff's radars this year. Maybe Takedown: Red Sabre could be nominated, since it was a relatively high profile Kickstarter failure, though while I backed it I didn't have all that high hopes for it, considering how low it's funding goal was, and that it just barely even made that goal.

SimCity on the other hand actively went against what people wanted out of that series, and wasn't even successful at what it tried to do. Out of the games that had any promise whatsoever this year, I'd think it is the worst.

Didn't play many of those so how the hell would I know.

I voted Sim City though, because I found the online requirement, small city size and multiplayer focus to be pretty insulting to fans of that series. Feels like I was spit on.

I watched Game Informer's full live stream of Ride to Hell. You can't appreciate the good unless you see the abysmal.

I feel like ride to hell doesn't count (unless we're talking about best so bad it's good goty) because it's so bad that it's entertaining whereas something like Aliens: Colonial Marines is just plain bad and busted.

2012's winner, Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor, is bad enough that it should win 2013's award too.

I am really happy that a game like Ride To Hell Retribution is made (barely), but holy shit is it bad, but I am thankful cause it's probably one of the funniest QL's in a long time.

Ride to Hell is objectively the worst game, but Aliens Colonial Marines stinged more because we all expected that game to be AT LEAST decent.

Beyond shouldn't be in that list.

Ride to Hell was pretty bad, but man was Survival Instincts just a hot mess (especially with Telltales game out in the wild).

SimCity 5 because I feel like I got duped. That game had such potential and totally blew it.
