3 Games or 1?? - General Discussion

So despite your guys contradictory results in my last poll I've decided between two final options ish. For my fifty dollar gift card I have decided to get Syndicate AND Amalur AND Alpha Protocol ORRRR DMC or GoW:Ascension or The Last of Us. I'm not polling this cause I want yo words not your callous votes!! So should I get the three older game which mix up genres or just get one new (ish) game at full (ish) price?? TELL ME!!

I only keep bringing it up because I am intensely indecisive and for some reason I feel this gift card burning a hole in my soul. I'll also state that yes I still have games to play that I own so technically I'm not desperate for games per se.

So duders 1 game, or the 3??

You should buy some games and play them, to take your mind off this difficult decision.

I'm going to go ahead and say no to DMC, that should be getting a price drop soon. The Last of Us is still a few months away. I guess it depends on how interested you are in the God of War multiplayer. The campaign only took me a little over 10 hours. If you are really interested in that multiplayer go for it, otherwise go for those other 3 games.

Three games. I personally would not spend that much on GoW and the Last of Us won't be out for a while still. And those three games seem enjoyable, enough to warrant their prices.

Is the appeal of the new games social in nature, like a book club? If so, one of those three games will probably have more social relevance in your circle.

How much time do you have to play? If a lot, go with more game, if a little, get fewer game, if very little, get more game, because new games will be old and cheap by the time you get around to playing them.

@hawkinson76: don't really have a lot of gaming friends one exception would be friend telling me to play dmc. However I like your points. Right now in the final push of my last year undergrad, haven't been able to play worth a damn. As soon as summer comes though will have lots of time after work. So yeah.

I really like Alpha Protocol so i'm going to say those three games. Most of the other stuff will probably price-drop anyway.

Normally this is where I'd point out that as of late, I've been getting more enjoyment out of indy games and older releases that I missed (Currently playing a lot of Super House of Dead Ninjas, S.T.A.L.K.E.R:CoP, and I'm still playing FTL), but given what I've played of Syndicate and Alpha Protocol, I could not in good conscience recommend them. That being said, I might have to borrow a PS3 when The Last of Us comes out, because that game looks amazing, and judging by your choices you don't play many PC titles, so I'd have to pick that one.

Side Note: Once I'm done with STALKER, I'm moving on to Metro 2033, another game I picked up well after release, and from what I'm hearing, I shan't be disappointed.

@d_bones: Definitely get the 3. Syndicate, Amalur, and AP are all good, differentiated games that together should give you lots of hours of entertainment. Once you're done with them, you ought to be able to buy any of those other single games for cheap.
