360 is dead. What's the next step?

Im gonna have to send my 360 to Microsoft, but I've no clue as to how this process works. Heeeeelp!

go on their help and support site and yea call em im sure they left some contact info on the box from the 360. but honestly, even tho this wont help, but get a ps3 :P

I came in here expecting some crazy rant about how the 360 is dead as a console (PS3 rant and so on).
 
This however.. Idno, gl hf m8.

You call 'em up. Tell 'em you got RROD.  They send you a Coffin to mail it in. 2-3 weeks later, you get a replacement.  The whole process of reporting it in takes all of 15 minutes after you get someone on the line.  You need to plan on some gaming contigencies while you wait. Usually I move in a straight line directly to my gaming PC & stay there til the replacement comes in.

Write down the code located inside the USB ports on the front.  You'll need them to identify your system.

Buying a PS3 is the next step.

I thought this was going to be thread on how the 360, as a platform, is dead.  Good thing it isn't.

call them up tell them u have rrod. they will tell u they are going to be sending u a box and u put ur xbox in there and ship it out to texas. u wait like a month. u get ur 360 back and u hope that it fully works again.

It will probably cost you to get it repaired. Their RROD extended warranty ran out like a year ago.

Just buy a new one, it's not worth the hassle, trust me, just had my 360 red ring for the 4th time yesterday. Never gets any better til you get a new one.

buy a console(ps3 or wii) that actually works...

1.call microsoft
2.send it in
3.wait 8 years for it to come back
4.go out and buy the next console
5.go on ebay and sell your 360 which should be a good 5 bucks then
6.send me a monster
7.play your new console

Yea well, my 360 recently red ringed for the third time one the day before Assassin's Creed 2 came out... dammit...
And well I'm not getting that piece of crap fixed, just gonna get a ps3. But last time I called Microsoft and they told me to send it in by registering my console on my Xbox Live account at Xbox.com and then i got it put in a box at the post of office and it was mailed so yea.
