When can we expect the game?

#4 Posted by OllyOxenFree (4970 posts) -

I just... wait, what?

#5 Posted by Robster (69 posts) -

Yeah... I know, I was bored.

The game?? I dunno, however I do kinda want to make a super smash brothers clone with the crew of the whiskey media sites

#6 Posted by Slax (894 posts) -

When did the Luchadeer grow a mans body?

#7 Posted by Brendan (7687 posts) -

Wait...why is it on the body of a man, and not a deer?

#8 Posted by Robster (69 posts) -

I dunno, I'm just using a normal luchador style body/clothes, and sticking luchadeers head on it

#9 Edited by ShaggE (6334 posts) -

Oh deer...

Edit: I am so, so sorry for that.

#10 Posted by SSully (4125 posts) -

This is awesome.

I was sad when I saw it wasn't an actual stone sculpture.

#13 Posted by CharlesAlanRatliff (5380 posts) -

So manly!

#14 Posted by Grimluck343 (1148 posts) -

That's both amazing and terrifying.

#15 Posted by Robster (69 posts) -

not yet...

what's more manly than rolling about a padded wring in tight spandex groping other men?, I don't know

Don't be sorry, it was bound to happen, might as well get it over with now

hopefully it will be at the end, I'll possibly make it low poly too and make a game model and just distribute it to see what other people use it for, that is IF I complete it

Ok, so It gets even Sillier, however, I need your feedback, I chose to make it a human-oid as frankly it's easier to model and animate. Feedback and suggestions guys. mostly a) what clothes should he have and b) should I try hooves instead of hands and feet??
#18 Posted by Sjupp (1910 posts) -

This is both scary and exciting.

#19 Posted by Marz (5642 posts) -

lol that's awesome, someone import it into Skyrim asap.

#20 Posted by Goboard (103 posts) -

Looking great!

As for crits, since he is already very humanoid I would stick with that and change his feet to boots because having toed feet and the suggestion of boots looks a little weird as it is. I'd also say give him some wrinkles on the areas where he is wearing clothing such as his legs, gloves and boots because right now it doesn't seem like he's wearing any even though you've put in some of those details. Once your done with the major forms I'd say add some suggestions of fur and some grain and scratching to the antlers to add a little detail. Look forward to seeing where you take this.

@Robster: Human hands, deer feet. Lets make this thing as fucked up as possible.

This. The feet are kinda weird anyway.
#23 Edited by Robster (69 posts) -

That's fantastic, Yeah the feet are odd at the moment because I'm using a base-mesh that has toes, I'll sort that out now I know I should go with feet.

Yeah, I may try an even more fucked up version for laughs, but I think I'm going to just get this looking as detailed as possible and get it baked down to low poly

Also, is there anyone who can rig well??, I'll probably try myself but usually it ends up badly...

#24 Posted by jelekeloy (456 posts) -

PLEASE give it hoofs (hooves?) instead of feet, that would be delightful. Also, probably easier to animate.

#25 Edited by Robster (69 posts) -

I'll attempt to do two versions, it's only a case of changing the low poly and doing some map tweaking, but that's all pretty simple. What about the legs?, if he has hooves maybe they should be digitigrade (if that's the word I'm looking for)

I don't think "digitigrade" is the correct word here, but regardless, if you give him hooves, I think his whole leg should be deer-like. Any other way would look incredibly awkward.

This is absolutely terrifying! (but still pretty impressive)

#32 Edited by Robster (69 posts) -

The one thing I thought people here, what with all the games being played, wouldn't think about this thing is that it's terrifying, unless you're like scared of deer. and apart from RAPING YOU IN YOUR SLEEP tonight, it doesn't pose any threat.

#33 Posted by BraveToaster (12590 posts) -

Damn, that's good. I wish I could do stuff like this.

#34 Posted by Goboard (103 posts) -

@Slaker117: Thats what I was thinking to, you'd have to give him reverse bipedal legs to match otherwise hooves just look weird.

#35 Edited by Robster (69 posts) -

More work done on Ears (as they were too small) and started some rudimentary colouring.

going to try fix legs now

#36 Edited by Robster (69 posts) -

Yeah, They are called Digitigrade because the weight is on the digits (or hoof in this case), will attempt to stick them in now before I carry on with any more high details. if they look too generic God of War I may reverse it though

*Here Goes*

I'm not thoroughly conviced YET, I think it looks like just another Minotaur-a-like...

#37 Posted by Origina1Penguin (3500 posts) -

Pretty much amazing. Couple of constructive criticism remarks though: 1) The knuckles look too prominent. 2) It looks better with the man legs/feet (the faun/satyr look doesn't do it for me), but the form looks a little iffy on the side of the feet with the little toe, and the legs look slightly undersized.

#38 Posted by Marz (5642 posts) -

give it cyberdemon feet :P

#39 Posted by Slaker117 (4835 posts) -
@Robster: Yeah, now that I've seen it, the legs do make it look much more like a generic minotaur creature, but I still like it. It already looks great either way though, so if you're feeling the man legs, just go with them.

Cool critique here, I agree with the faun thing (I really should have turned safesearch off when googling minotaur :| ) The hands haven't been worked on at all, and the feet have changed quite a bit since I got rid of the toes. I'll post up probably later tomorrow, I should really be going to bed. The legs ARE undersized as I made the whole torso bigger cos the head was oversized... if that makes any sense

That's more like it!, I'm still not going to do that, I'm pretty certain I'm going to keep it human with wrestling shoes.

What I DO need though, is any designs for his cape, colour suggestions for his trousers or constume design in general, should he be wearing more of a singlet?,

I Think going into that I wasn't feeling it, so the end result COULD have been a lot better. I DO like these types of legs, and I recently had some of those jumping stilts so I know how they feel and should look,.. but It's just not for this character :) more suggestions would be cool though for general stuff. Cheers

Hot damn! Luchadeer is looking awesome!

Now animate him doing a Shoryuken ;)

#42 Posted by WilltheMagicAsian (1544 posts) -

He needs a bigger bulge.

#43 Posted by MostlyBearded (191 posts) -

He needs a championship belt of some kind.

#44 Posted by Robster (69 posts) -

give me time to finish the model and rig it, I'll put it on my list as the first thing to animate

I'll grab the "inflate" brush

He currently has one, which I was going to put over his shoulder. I was going to texture it with an embossed whiskey media logo, although I'm not sure

Came here to say this.

#47 Posted by ch3burashka (5011 posts) -

Yes on the hooves and deer legs, but keep the torso human, so that he looks even more like a monster. Doing great so far - here's hoping for a cameo in the next wrestling game.

#48 Posted by Robster (69 posts) -
OK, so the Feet and Hands are still pretty much untouched, so need the most work done on them, updated the trousers a little but haven't had any time today to do any major work on it. I'll post a more substantial update either tomorrow or tuesday. Going to get a tonne of references on that type of material for the folds etc.
#49 Posted by crusader8463 (14412 posts) -

Modeling the toes even though he is supposed to be wearing wrestling boots really freak me out for some reason.

#50 Posted by zyn (2591 posts) -

I thought it would just be a giant flying Luchadeer head.
