I'm sorry if this has been posted already but I just dived into the hd world this black friday and I was wondering what to set my new 32" lcd to? I only use it for my 360 and I don't really watch movies.

I think 1080i looks prettier, but I don't know if there's a better choice for gaming.

If it's 32", go 720p. Also, don't bother with 1080i AT ALL. Get 1080p if you decide to go bigger.

Actually, do they still sell 1080i TVs?

I think the major corporations are phasing them out in favor of 1080p.

Also, yes, as everyone else has stated, 720p is a much better choice for a television of that size.  My friend has a television of that size, and he runs it on 1080i--jaggies and rough edges of rendered objects seem much more distinct in 1080i than their 720p counterparts.

Progressive is always better than interlaced. Always.

Read this. It talks about 720p vs. 1080p, but it still has quite a bit of useful information if you want to know what to use.

I think the only reason to use 1080i is if your TV is 1080 and has a slow scaling processor. Having the console scale will sometimes be faster than the TV's scaling.
