I only urge you to read my hard work because, after feasting your eyes upon these new assets Nintendo has released for the game, you might not bother reading at all.

PENGUIN SUIT WAT

I know it's dumb, but I wish they went back to sprites for stuff like this. The last 2d Mario game that actually looked like a Mario game to me was World.
 
The suits and ice flowers are pretty awesome though.

Can't wait for this. 
 
It'll be my fourth Wii game I get, 50% of them will be Mario. :P

I just wish it had online play. Everyone I know that lives in my area is off in Iraq. I would love to be able to play this on four players with my friends that live elsewhere.

Looks fun, but I won't get it. Probably be pretty short like the DS version. But I'll take 2D Mario over 3D Mario anyday.

God, Nintendo is going to make another killing on this. And my money's gonna be in their pocket just like everyone else's.

Hmmm...not sure, looks kinda gimpy, like something's missing. Doesn't look as solid as the original 2d games. I'll keep an eye on it, but probably won't get it anytime soon. I agree with august, I would like to see some sprites return. The models look disappointingly boring in their 3d rendition.

Can't say I'm to excited, it looks like they took 90% of the resources straight from NSMB, even the music.

I think it will be great. A big thing for me though isn't just playing through and getting 100% (which will happen, I'm sure) but getting my friends and family that haven't played games since the SNES to play with me again. I know it's cheesy, but it's true. As a side note, as mentioned before by someone else, this is really only the 4th or 5th game I will have bought for my Wii. Booo.

When I think of material real things that the original NSMB lacked and this seems to lack the list is really short.  One thing does stand way out, the music.  The New Super Mario Bros theme is horrible, I hate it.  This game is filled with remixes of it too.  When I think about the songs I've loved in Mario games, each of the GOOD Mario games of the past had at least a handful of completely original and AMAZING songs, songs I'd sing along to and still enjoy.  Now even the better songs are just remixes.  I don't know who wrote those original Mario songs but they need to get that guy to come up with some good new works.  Give him time...
 
Maybe New Super Mario Bros on DS lacked something more, I think it did, but I can't think of anything too major.  The old Mario games introduced innovative game mechanics each time, and while newer Mario games still do this, the concepts are more derivative than they used to be.  SMB3 - suits, the map, warp whistle, koopa kids, all sorts of great stuff.  SMW - Yoshi, the fences you grabbed onto, crazy SNES style effects, better secrets on the map...  Yoshi's Island - all sorts of advanced 2D effects, throwing eggs, all sorts of new gameplay mechanics.  Mario64 - analog control & fully 3D world.  Super Mario Sunshine - the FLUDD?  Seriously?

Nothing screams quality like cheesy synth chorus hits.

Damn looks good.  Just to bad I'm not buying that crap console.

Looks fun. Good to see them going back to what made Mario great: 4 people playing at once and running into each oth-

This game looks like it's going to be a blast.  They had a playable version on the show floor at PAX.  I can't wait to get my hands on the whole thing.

Idk, I'm not too excited for this.  I know I should be excited but I just feel *meh* towards it, but I will definitely have to try it.  But what I really want to see Nintendo make is a DK or Yoshi centric game that isn't racing or bongos.  Something like the original DK games and something like Yoshi story, nothing against mario but when was the last time we had something like I just said from Nintendo?

Meh, the super skills video is far better but all the outlets choose to show this instead... even though super skills is right in the front page of the official website...

The one that scares me about this game is the focus on multiplayer. My friends that visit don't play games like this, they're more of the Wii Sports Resort crowd. I'll just have to wait and see what the single player offers before I buy.

I don't get it. I'm totally cool with the Bombcast crew and other people being psyched about this game, but... I still don't get it. I REALLY don't get it.

This looks like a fun, happy game. I may need that in between all the violence of MW2 and Uncharted. Also, what happened to Mario Galaxy 2? I thought that was a holiday release but apparently not.
