A Ratchet & Clank: Crack in Time Two-For From Comic-Con

While I was busy consuming my weight in Bojangles and bourbon back home in North Carolina last week, the annual Comic-Con was raging in sunny San Diego--and in addition to a veritable mountain of comic book-related shenanigans, a few video games were represented there. One of them was the next Ratchet & Clank game, A Crack in Time, which Sony has released some new videos for.

The first is the result of a community contest held by developer Insomniac to design the latest in the series' long line of bizarre weaponry. I won't ruin the surprise; watch creative director Brian Allgeier talk about how it all went down and the weapon that came about.

i hate how people always forget about ratchet and clank. I mean LOOK AT THOSE GRAPHICS its almost to a pixar like quality 

I don't really care for Ratchet & Clank, but since I've skipped so many games in the franchise I might get this one.

I love how they always throw non-comic related stuff in Comic Con.

One of the reason I have to get just get a PS3. I miss Ratchet and Clank soo much. 

Why do they slap "Future" on there on the American release? Looking forward to it anyways.

Love this series and insomniac has never failed me (excluding Resistance 2)

Is it just me or does the robot giving out instructions in the 2nd video sounds alot like Teddy from Persona 4.

Looks very cool.  Makes me want to go find a PS3 and play some Ratchet and Clank like the old days.

This game looks unbelievable.

I enjoyed the hell out of Tools of Destruction. I will be getting this.

Damn lazy devs making their fans do the work for them. No, but seriously, that weapon is pretty rad.

I really wish they chose mine (the growing sticky ball called the avalanche), but the one they chose is pretty cool too.

That gameplay looks incredible. Some crazy ideas are gonna come out of that mechanic.

That robot sounds an awfully lot like Teddy.

So basically the Spiral of Death is the gun that shot spinning blades from Resistance 2, except slower and they come back.

This game's gunna be so sweet! :) 

I loved the first a ton... just wish it had Trophies.

They admitted as such during the Comic-Con panel, that Braid influenced Clank's new gameplay features."

now I want that game.

Hmm wasn't this weapon in Dead Space? If memory serves it was pretty effective!

I often feel like the only diehard ratchet and clank fan in the world, but I can't wait to play this.  It's why I'm buying a PS3.

On the subject of Bojangles, what the hell are they. The website says Chicken and Buscuit, those don't go together. Buscuits = Rich Tea, Chocolate Diegestives or a Hob-Nob if I'm feeling saucy.

(R&C looks class, haven't missed a game in the series an I'm not going start with this one)

Even after so many iterations of essentially the same game I'd think I'd be done with the series. But there's something about the art style of the R&C games that just always brings me back. And the music in this seems really good, as-well. Really symbolic of the whole "time" aspect they seem to push in this game.

Those graphics are pretty unimpressive at this point. I actually think the game looks worse than Tools of Destruction.

I absolutely adore Ratchet & Clank games. Despite the apparent lack of ANY hype for this game, I'm excited!

Man is that customizable weapon awesome.

Ratchet and Clank is probably one of the most underrated franchises going.
