That's funny... I live in a socialist country and that certainly doesn't happen here. And no it is not because the government manages to withhold it from the people it just doesn't happen. Your views of socialism are so... American?

Most people outside of the extreme right and left wings (and older Cuban-Americans, but that's another rant) understand the difference between political systems and economic systems. Most people also understand that there are fine socialist countries (Switzerland), and despotic capitalist ones (Egypt under Mubarak, though it remains to be seen what will happen there now). We also understand that there's really no relation in video games, as such would almost certainly not be part of what the government is controlling in a mixed economy. Really, the only economic system truly linked to dictatorship would be communism (command economy), as absolute control over how the economy works would require a despotic government like the Soviets were.

Somebody try and tell me that capitalism serves the people.

what does this have to do with anything in the article?

People like game made by person A. In socialism, person A keeps making games. in capitalism, person A makes games once some people in suits who don't care about said games say it's ok.

Obviously that is the simplified version.

Person A would have to keep making games whether they liked it or not in a pure socialist example.

That's communism. 70% of the time when people are complaining about socialism they are actually thinking of communism. They are similar in goal, but not at all in execution.

@nintendoeats: There are many variations of socialism depending on how far the country/government takes it. Your example was a very lax form of socialism with horizontal freedom that I don't associate with pure socialism. To each his own though.

Sorry bud. Didn't mean to steal your glory. The worst part is I got that quest like 2 years ago.

No that was a "fuck", mixed with Activision's Tony Hawk. A response fitting to the story outcome. I would have said "it's about time"... but it really wasn't.

Hahaaaa I get it.

Those aren't my actual views on socialism. It was more of a response to the absurdity of the original comment I replied to. This lawsuit has nothing to do with socialism versus capitalism, and my comment regarding "Obviously, this is simplified" was meant to reflect the sarcasm in my post. And although I currently live in America, I've spent several years living abroad, and was raised and educated following the end of the cold war when communists/socialists were no longer demonized in popular Western culture. Whatever you think the "American" view , that's probably not mine. Also, America is a plurality, don't pretend to know what "our" views are. That's like saying the Afghanis view Americans as the devil - Things are more complicated than what can be summed up in one sentence. Hence my snarky post.
