Alternate use of a fightstick

So am I alone in the fact that I sometimes enjoy playing games other than fighters with a fightstick? Platformers mostly. 'Splosion Man Mega Man 9, Braid, etc. I wouldn't think that I was. There is just something arcadey in playing that style of game with something other than a gamepad.

I played Track and Field with my stick.  It's fucking tough.

You could also be like Gootecks and throw your stick at the wall. 

I have to look into the benefits of such usage. It sounds novel.

Try SOTN. It feels made for a fight stick.
 
If you don't already own it, you have no reason not to now.

You could always try DOOM.

I would suggest N+ if that dumbass at Slick Entertainment hadn't given the analog stick a higher speed than the d-pad. Unless your stick uses analog axes as the joy instead of d-pad inputs.

Depends if it has Force Feedback or not...

Whenever I get a new peripheral for my PC, one of the first things I do is try to use it in a game other than what it's intended for.  
 
Puzzle Bobble is pretty awesome with a joystick, but that's probably because it was an arcade game.  

I use my fight stick to play old games on MacMAME. Also used it for some PSN titles.

I don't have arcade stick, but I use a driving wheel to play Modern Warfare 2.

Take some lube - grab a banana skin and then.....

Back in the day arcade control pads  were useful for almost all games.  I remember playing a lot of 2-d platformers and fighting games on them.  So I am assuming that it would probably be good for any 2-d platformer.

I play Peggle and Metal Slug 3 with my fightstick. Works really well.

I don't use fightsticks often, so I don't know.
