also, for those paranoid about the incoming Steam Sale, it is highly unlikely (im 99% sure) that Steam will have most of these for any lower. Hell, I doubt that Spec Ops will be on sale at all, let alone 50% off... Max Payne 3 maybe, using the precedent created by LA Noire last year, which was 50% off in the winter sale after being out for little more than a month (but again, it wont be more than the 50% thats here). Modern Warfare 3 will never be more than 50%, let alone this year. So yeah, go nuts without worrying about the Steam Sale matching / beating those.

Shit...just my luck. I bought Spec Ops: The Line off Steam day one (out of boredom more than urge to play that title specifically). Now that I just finished the campaign a few moments ago and the multiplayer is largely an uninspired bust; I really wish I could have save some cash on it.

Hmm I wonder how much that Borderlands GOTY is and does Download mean steam activated? I've been shopping around and am trying to see just how low I can get it for!

#5 Posted by ajamafalous (12128 posts) -

I might pick up Syndicate. Anyone know if there are still people playing it on PC?

#6 Posted by nonny (15 posts) -

Guessing that this will be America only as usual?

yes but aparently you can just set a (second) billing adress with a US adress and you can buy them from everywhere, because amazon doesnt check CCs against adresses. Or so says Neogaf

#8 Posted by Ravenlight (8040 posts) -

NOT CHEAP ENOUGH!

#9 Posted by Brodehouse (10106 posts) -

Looks like I'll pick up Spec Ops and Max Payne. Was planning on waiting until winter, but summer does look pretty grim.

I'm constantly worried Amazon is going to send the hounds after me for telling them I live in New York. I just want to buy your things, Amazon! Your Canadian site is fucking awful!
#11 Posted by mandude (2669 posts) -

I'm going to buy Max Payne, and then Steam will put it on sale the week after for approximately 20c.

Actually OP, post this thread again, except add in a part that says Gods and Kings: $2

#12 Posted by banishedsoul1 (294 posts) -

digital games are never a amazing deal as you don't get a real product.

#13 Posted by RandomInternetUser (6789 posts) -

Well, I'll be buying Darkness II probably unless the Steam summer sale offers it for cheaper. Already have everything else on there that I care to pay those prices for.

#14 Posted by Kaiserreich (731 posts) -

@banishedsoul1: Get used to it.

#15 Posted by TooWalrus (13255 posts) -

I'll be picking up Darkness II, can't wait.

lol good one. Wait, youre serious?

Anyway, seems they will also have Binary Domain (steamworks aswell) for 10 dollars soon (no date for that, only July), which is 75% off the price, again, Steam will at best match that, not pass it. Big Bo!

#17 Posted by Pikawai (135 posts) -

Their last sale was better IMO, I'm gonna pass on this one.

#18 Posted by Rhaknar (5939 posts) -

deals are live now. For Max Payne 3, make sure (if you care) that steam version is selected, if you want to redeam it on steam

#19 Posted by JoeyRavn (5005 posts) -

I have everything I would want. I could get the Paradox pack, but I don't know if I really want to play Crusader Kings II. I'd be getting it just because it's cheap, really. The only game I could think about buying is Max Payne 3... I tried it, but it didn't click for me, to be honest. I'll get it on Steam when it's $5 in a couple of years.

#20 Posted by face15 (1305 posts) -

Just bought Max Payne. Now to wait out the long 27GB download.

#21 Posted by Rhaknar (5939 posts) -

just bought Spec Ops using a Google adress (michigan one /random) and it worked, for those outside the US wondering. Now I wait the internet cops to crash my doors down, but in the meantime, I'm downloading it on Steam :p

#22 Posted by Binman88 (3689 posts) -

@Rhaknar: They're gonna have to call in the international gamecops for this one.

#23 Posted by Bollard (5756 posts) -

@Rhaknar: Considering how the exchange rate is so much in my favour I might even try this on full price downloads, and I'd still save money.

I ordered Spec Ops and Syndicate 3 hours ago. Both are still processing.

Hopefully this isn't amazon clamping down on people buying the games from outside of America.

Well you get the game, which... is the product, so yeah I think they're a great deal.

Ooh, wonder if this also works with their video services too.

So how did you do it, set up your credit card with amazon, and then just lie about the billing address of the card? And that works?

just bought MW3 and Max Payne 3, MW3 was instant, MP3 i got what you got, took ages to process and then said it couldnt at the time but to not rebuy it as it will take some time. Hopefully it will go through. It could just be they are out of keys, who knows. Or the internet cops are coming

I've bought around 8 games from them previously and haven't had any issues.

It's not the biggest deal if they do cancel, I guess.

actually, even tho MW3 is on my digital games list in my account and I got the serial on Steam already, if I click the actual order it says it hasnt processed just like MP3. So either the servers are getting hammered (likely) or MP3 steam version ran out of keys (alo likely since the sale only lasts 3 days as opposed to the rest lasting 1 week). Im not too worried...yet

Just picked up the 2K Strategy pack. Always wanted to check out the Civ games. Those Stronghold Quick Looks were nuts so I'll probably load one of those up, too. Thanks for the heads up OP!

#32 Posted by Mikemcn (7008 posts) -

Is the stronghold collection something I can just take the code from and add it to steam?

Binary Domain? amazon dude said in the neogaf thread about the sale. Kingdoms of Amalur will be 25 bucks too (that doesnt seem like much of a deal tho, only because the game isnt that new anymore, not because of the quality)

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=480502&page=15

If anyone has a gaf account tell that Amazon dude (Tony) to start posting here on Giantbomb aswell, he posts on Neogaf and CAG (whatever that is)

#36 Posted by Rhaknar (5939 posts) -

from the amazon dude on neogaf:

Wanted to let you guys know, I WAY under forecasted MP3 sales and we might (probably) will run out of keys today for the Steam version. I've already called Rockstar and they assure me I'll have more early tomorrow.

guess thats why my MP3 order hasnt gone through yet, not unexpected. Also, Spec Ops is fucking awesome

#37 Posted by mandude (2669 posts) -

@Rhaknar: Cool, so I guess placing my order at 12.01am paid off. And there was my rational side telling me to wait...

#38 Posted by Rhaknar (5939 posts) -

Just got my Max Payne 3 Steam key finally, so for those (from outside the US or even in the US) with the "Its taking longer than expected to process your order, may take up to 4 hours bla bla" thing, dont worry everything is fine :) Peace, now bring on Binary Domain!

#39 Posted by kumquat (128 posts) -

Wow, this is awesome. I feel weird buying stuff with the steam summer sale looming, but spec ops and darkness 2 for $40 is kinda too good to pass up.

Those Paradox bundles are worth it for Crusader Kings II alone. Good lord you get a ton of games from them!
