any place I can buy a cheap PS3 controller?

so I'm in need of a new PS3 controller, but checking prices on Bestbuy and Gamestop, most of them seem to be seeling for around $40. That sounds kind expensive, honestly.

I've searched through eBay and found some listed for about half that price, but I don't know if they're good quality products. Should I just go ahead and spent the $40, or does it really matter where I buy it from?

$40 is actually a sale price. First party PS3 and Xbox 360 controllers are actually $60 for regular price.

@Ocean_H: that's crazy D:

I suppose I shouldn't wait too long to get one then

Best buy has some good deals on 1st party PS3 controllers sometimes. My cousin got the Full god of war collection bundled with A PS3 controller for $40 bucks and just yesterday Best buy was selling a bundled game (Twisted metal) with a controller for $40 bucks as a deal of the day. just look out for deals.

@FancySoapsMan: $40 is not a sale price. That's what they go for regularly. These do not retail for $60, that is ludicrous. Just a short while ago Gamestop was selling PS3 controller/game pack for $40. I've seen the wired 360 controller go for as low as $25-$30 at times, and the wireless tends to go for around $30-$35. The PS3 controller tends to stick at around $40, however. Keep up with online deals and take a look at this place over here --> http://slickdeals.net/

$40 IS a sale price (MSRP is $55):

@Ocean_H: Man, MSRP means absolutely nothing. You do realize that that's the price they suggest to make you believe you're getting a deal, right? You can find them at $40 from any number of vendors at any time throughout the year. You're right, $40 is the "sale!" price...

@FancySoapsMan: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16879261320 is going for $37 today. Not an amazing deal, but if you're in desperate need and don't want to wait, it's better than $40. PS3 controllers don't tend to dip much below $40, unlike their 360 brethren. The best deal you'll find for the PS3 controller is either the http://www.amazon.com/PS3-New-Owners-Kit-PlayStation-3/dp/B005QP3MGI, which was at one time selling for somewhere around $35 at Gamestop. or the http://us.playstation.com/games-and-media/ultimate-combo-packs/ which could be found at $40 just a couple of months ago. It's possible to find those deals crop up again somewhere.

I say again, though, $40 is not a sale price. Just because some people are cool with getting ripped off, doesn't mean you should be.

I ended up buying a used one from Amazon for about $27. It's not ideal but it's the best deal I could find.

also it's a badass blue color, which is a nice bonus.

I think if you go to a GameStop store you can probably find some ghetto third-party ones available.
