I did, I'll still be visiting there because I do blog posts but I'll be using here more often than I'll be there and I'll be trusting here for reviews.
Anyone else doing the same?

#2 Edited by nickystixx (184 posts) -

i would check gamespot for news and reviews, i wasn't into the community aspect at all. but here. now that is a different story! :)

Yeah thanks to the launch of the real Giant Bomb, I can finally say goodbye to gamespot forever! I was really starting to get desperate, that site lost all respect from me when I was moderated for implying someone was 'not cool' :P

#5 Posted by MichaelScott (193 posts) -

Yeah I did.

My favorite part about gamespot was the people on the hotspot and on the spot, once Ryan, Rich, Jeff, etc. left t just wasn't fun anymore.

#6 Posted by xplodedd (1316 posts) -

same here, I stopped visiting gamespot.

I agree entirely.

Gamespot vet here, which is why I am here now.  Though GS will always be with me.....Like an Ex

#9 Posted by Batman (1016 posts) -

Yeah, my GS username is omfg_its_dally.  I post in Off-topic.

#10 Posted by MB (12788 posts) -

I've been registered on Gamespot since 2002 but I don't think I ever made a single post there.  Those forums were a disaster.

I think a lot of people on here have been there. That is where we learned how great these guy really are.

#12 Posted by ScunerMac (31 posts) -

Too right. I could never get into the site entirely after 'the incident'. Just felt wrong when all that s**t went down.
Just happy this site is now up and running. Loving it guys.

#13 Posted by expanded (4 posts) -

lol i think most of the people who signed up here really early are from GS :P
BET NO ONE CAN FIND ME THAR BUAHHA :cough: :P jk

I came ready for battle with sword in hand we all must unite, gamespot will crumble under their new dictator Van Ord, the mastermind. All shall cower before the banner of GiantBomb!

Haha, pretty much.

#16 Posted by Axersia (1620 posts) -

I moved to Gametrailers as soon as the word got out about Jeff.

#17 Posted by samcotts (2258 posts) -

Yeah, I did.

I actually left after November 07, because the site was going downhill. But I did end up making another account just for their forums. I think Giantbomb will definitely take up almost all of my Gamespot time now, this place looks great.

I agree! Prepare for WAAARR!
#19 Posted by Toriko (82 posts) -

Yeah, I am a gamespot user and came here

#20 Posted by TheBeast (1931 posts) -

I didn't 'come' from Gamespot - I've always watched On the Spot and listened to the Hotspot but since Jeff and Ryan left it's been going downhill, plus Giant Bomb looks more comprehensive and professional than Gamespot ever has!
I'm sure I'll continue to check both in the future - but I can see the Bomb being my main resource for all things gaming,

#21 Posted by Arsenal86 (123 posts) -

Yes I did i was so annoyed with gamespot as they fired jeff who made that website good for reviews but now it is terrible as the new staff  do not know what they are doing

#22 Posted by megalowho (972 posts) -

I'm a former Gamespot visitor as well - I go by viberooni around those parts, mostly in GGD. Depending on how these forums work out I may never have to go back again, yay.

#23 Posted by bizsumpark182 (361 posts) -

I used to be a big part of the Gamespot community until a few things happened. Then they made me mad and things were never the same on that site. I've been waiting for this site to launch for a long while now. Glad its finally happened and I can start to be sociable with other gamers online again.

The podcast can be annoying. It sounds too much like it's trying to be IGN's Game Scoop (lots of people being nonsensical and randomly shouting out words - that's funny to an extent, but I like to hear about games every so often too.)

#25 Posted by MrZeal (84 posts) -

Since they fired a lot of people and some other quit, I started to grow a sensation of unconfidence in Gamespot. I normally check out ign, kotaku and many blogs... Never got in any community based page, but I'm here to learn!
Also, the review system in Giant Bomb is neat and these guys are funny and reliable in all aspects.

Shalom :)

I used to get my news from GS but now I usually hit f5 on gaf for that.

#27 Posted by Termite (2398 posts) -

I've really started to hate GS, so I'm going here exclusively now

#28 Posted by bizsumpark182 (361 posts) -

Its one of the best podcast that I've listened to. I don't know why your complaining about how much they talk about games. They spend a pretty good amount of time talking about games. You have to have some funny, especially when the podcast is about 2 hrs long.

#30 Posted by TwoOneFive (9459 posts) -

i did. im ronniepage588 and Gameslave_ (two different names because this one moderater hates me for some reason and is always suspending me)

#31 Posted by MattyFTM (14420 posts) -

Yep. I'm not leaving there completely though. I'm still going to post there, but mainly just in the UK forum since GB doesn't have any localized forums.

What? Disaster? Gamespot has one of the best communities on the web.
Hopefully Giantbomb will follow suite. As for me, I will always remain at Gamespot, but being here at Giantbomb isn't bad at all.
#34 Posted by TwoLines (2821 posts) -

Hey- yeah. I came from GS. In fact- same user name.

#35 Posted by Happy_Cloud (190 posts) -

I left more or less when the whole controversy started, and waited for this site to launch. I can't wait to get back into posting.

#36 Posted by Riddler (1528 posts) -

the reason to visit gamespot is now here

#37 Posted by Raspberry (63 posts) -

Everybody is from Gamespot - C'mon ;-)

#38 Posted by Pro_wrestler (9 posts) -

I'm sure everyone remembers me :) I've been wondering if GB would implement a forum and they have, great job.

#39 Posted by raghraghragh (10 posts) -

Yup, ex-spotter here too.

They had a board dedicated to "System Wars" where people would just trash talk and insult each other. Not a good idea for a forum.

Its called containment. Make a board, so it doesn't spread into the other boards....
and you are overblowing the trash talk and insult each other part.
#42 Posted by Glitch321 (4 posts) -

I'm from GS but i didn't post there much anyhoo.

I think the point of that was to keep the flaming fanboy crap to one forum away from civilized discussion.
#45 Posted by McPlated (133 posts) -

I was all over Gamespot since '98 and used to trapeze around the forums quite a bit - just never posted much at all.
Then since I heard about Jeff getting the boot I left and haven't gone back since.

#46 Posted by lucas_kelly (769 posts) -

I think almost everyone has.

#47 Posted by Joru (311 posts) -

I did aswell, I'm lvl 34 or something over there (I didn't post much) and I'm propably not going to go there anymore. I prefer the writing of the people who run this site and it has a much better layout than gs ever had.

#48 Posted by Red (5995 posts) -

Well, I was on Gamespot for a time, and then I heard about Giantbomb through Jeff's interview with Adam Sessler on X-play, I visited there and then I started going on IGN instead of Gamespot. And now, I'll probably be going on here instead of IGN.

#49 Posted by piecat (384 posts) -

Gamespot is a failboat, but i've still been posting/ lurking there since 2004.

#50 Posted by ScOtTy (7 posts) -

oops I just made the same post

Yeah I am was Scotty992 over there got sick of the site.
