I have a question unrelated to the topic: Why do you always have RANDOM caps in your topic threads? Do certain words EXCITE you, and therefore, you must shout them with glee over the internet? This isn't a criticism, merely curiosity.

#2 Posted by Knochenkotzer (17 posts) -

In one way or another, yes, I'm sure I'm a pirate. Only part-timer though. :P

#3 Posted by AlexanderSheen (5101 posts) -

Do you guys remember that other guy that used to make a bunch of troll topics like two years ago that used to randomly capitalize full words in his posts, too?

I wonder if it's this dude.

That's the one problem I always had back in school in English class. In German we capitalize all nouns so I kinda had to force myself to not do that when writing in English...just a possible reason for something like that.

Wait, THERE'S a language that INVOLVES capitalising entire WORDS?

ALSO, no, i do NOT pirate games, if THAT is indeed what YOU are asking.

#14 Edited by OfficeGamer (1086 posts) -

@beachthunder: you capitalized all the wrong words.. we need a random capitalization school to teach how it's done properly

I really like WHERE this thread is GOING. It's so VAGUE that it can be construed in DIFFERENT ways.

Are my eyes playing tricks on me or am I seeing Hizang reincarnated?

Hm, if that were the case then there would be more Nintendo fanboyism...

Not since I got a job.

I have hard evidence this is not the case and he is not ,in fact, Hizang.

#24 Edited by myketuna (1756 posts) -

Basically, no. I don't have a job per se, but I do have a steady amount of income coming in and since that happened, I don't really pirate. Once in a while, I'll get something, but it's so few and far between that I don't consider myself one.

Buying stuff has gotten pretty damn convenient and affordable in the past couple of years.

You show me your hard evidence, I'll show you my other m.

Hum, what? Nothing. Anyway, I'm not saying that he is literally Hizang. I'm talking more like a spiritual successor. You guys take everything so seriously and literal. Don't you see I'm being philosophical over here? Jeez.

#26 Posted by thatdutchguy (1283 posts) -

yes i am , because it's legal in my country to download whatever i want.

@winternet: Hizang comes on the Gaming Hub's mumble server, he's not coming back on GB, he tried to appeal his ban, doesn't want to be known under a new user name and it pretty content.

Spiritual successor I can kind of get behind but he has a long way to go yet. Not until we see a crazy poll like this a day will I even consider it.

@samstrife: I believe in the young lad. He has the talent, he just needs to develop it and practice. A whole lot of practice.

I try not to. I usually buy most of my entertainment. Save for TV shows....

#31 Posted by Colourful_Hippie (4495 posts) -

I used to still pirate music until I got spotify premium.

Oh. You meant that kind of pirate. This thread is way less cool now. I don't really pirate games unless they're too old to get a copy of, or unreleased in America. I am pretty scummy about pirating movies though, if there's a movie I want to watch and it's not in theaters I don't even attempt legal methods unless it's indie. I also pirate comic books, but only if there's some problem that's keeping me from getting it at my store, and even then I usually buy it once I can. Unless it sucked. Also video game music, because in plenty of cases piracy is literally the only method of getting it. So yeah overall I'm pretty bad I guess.

...Maybe....

#34 Edited by Deusx (1910 posts) -

Depends on what kinds of treasures I'm stealing if you know what I mean... That's only for games though. I pirate EVERYTHING else. Movies because they are too expensive and I watch too many of them and music because fuck the music industry. I buy vinyls from time to time though.

#35 Posted by Slaegar (740 posts) -

Everyone's a pirate.

I don't pirate movies music or games, but I'm sure there's some EULA out there that I am breaking somehow.

like when I copied my cd's to my PC so i could put them on my Diamond Rio.

#37 Posted by ArbitraryWater (12123 posts) -

Not really, not anymore at least. I'm not going to pretend that I don't still have some of that stuff on my computer, but my days of actively infringing on international copyright law stopped when I got a bank account and a job. I'm sure that if the feds ever raided my computer they could probably still charge me for those Japanese Fire Emblem ROMs that I have.

#39 Edited by Clonedzero (4196 posts) -

not with games.

#40 Posted by MikkaQ (10344 posts) -

I only pirate when I need to see a movie for school, and they only exist in a $40 criterion edition. I don't know why but when it comes to education I am cheap as hell.

I'm a pirate in a world where RIAA and MPAA got their ideas through congress. I put on LPs when my hipstery friends come over, I watch films with more respectable friends, I make music that shitty anti-piracy algorithms think is existing shit I've never heard.

In this world I'm a below minimum wage good guy wondering why my rich-ass friends with great jobs, academic backgrounds, huge homes and cars pirate like it was OCD.

I've got a jar of dii-iirt

#44 Posted by RainbowCarnage (97 posts) -

#48 Posted by ConfusedOwl (970 posts) -

No I'm a level 22 paladin.

#49 Posted by MethodMan008 (822 posts) -

When it comes to games, no way.

When it comes to music, it is a little more complicated.. I used to pirate everything, but I just bought my first song ever legally on iTunes (Get Lucky by Daft Punk) and now I don't think I'll pirate music anymore.

When it comes to movies/TV shows, yes, all the time. Don't pay for cable and only see a few movies in theaters a year. :(

I choose not to but I don't mind if other people do.
