Hm, none of your options fits me.

I won't buy it, but I don't think Nintendo sucks. I grew up with Nintendo and love their characters, my taste in games just changed.

#3 Posted by robot4me (193 posts) -

I think Nintendo might actually make it possible to only need one console this generation. I always hate having to buy a Nintendo console for their games and then something else for the other games.

#4 Posted by Revan_NL (332 posts) -

No, but I don't think Nintendo sucks. They just lost the plot after the succes of the Wii

#5 Posted by shinboy630 (1133 posts) -

I really don't think Nintendo sucks, but my answer is no so that's what I picked.

#6 Posted by Vanek (381 posts) -

I have one preordered, but that's getting cancelled if the game prices don't change before launch. The prices are bad enough in the UK and at the moment Wii U games have somehow jumped up £10 which ain't fucking on.

#7 Posted by takayamasama (439 posts) -

Hmmm these answers look fair and balanced for sure.

Also don't we have a thread like this already?

#8 Posted by Vonocourt (2123 posts) -

Yep, pre-ordered it just because.

#9 Posted by probablytuna (3553 posts) -

Why isn't there an option to say "No" without talking shit about Nintendo? I mean, I'm not interested in their console, but I don't dislike them as a company.

#10 Posted by BigDaddy81 (319 posts) -

I went ahead and pre-ordered it. I'm fine with the graphical of level of the current generation so I'm not bothered by Wii U's specs. My only fear is that it won't get enough third party support once the new generation hits.

Oddly enough, the first game I wanna play when I get the system is a Wii game: Xenoblade Chronicles.

Sorry when I started this poll my 3 year woke up and I forgot to put no I;m not buying it.

#12 Posted by kalmis (1558 posts) -

Maybe one day. Haven't seen a single game yet that interest me.

#13 Posted by Imsorrymsjackson (855 posts) -

Haven't seen this thread before...

#14 Posted by crusader8463 (14415 posts) -

Terrible poll is terrible. I don't plan to buy it any time soon, but once they do their first hardware revision in a year or two and there are at least 4-5 games on it that I can't get anywhere else that I really want to play I will pick one up. I always end up getting them all eventually, it's just a matter of waiting for enough exclusives to make it worth so. Last winter is when I broken down and got the Wii. I got Wii and around 20 games for it for around $400. Still haven't opened the box of the system, but I got them now.

#15 Posted by Wong_Fei_Hung (642 posts) -

Yea, pre-ordered a deluxe model. I'll be playing it next week and going to the launch event later.

I would vote if there was an option along the lines of "No. I hope the WiiU turns out to be good but I'm far to skeptical at this point to buy"

#17 Posted by Jack268 (3387 posts) -

After Bayonetta 2 and MH3U were announced, definitely. The price is a bit steep for me at the moment, but I'm hoping I'll be able to scrape together the cash for it around the time MH3U comes out.

I chose option G

#18 Posted by Vegetable_Side_Dish (1724 posts) -

No.  I'll wait till the PS4/720 come out to make sure I'm not just buying another first party machine

#19 Posted by BD_Mr_Bubbles (1698 posts) -

Preordered

#20 Posted by FreakAche (2950 posts) -

Where's the "When Pikmin and/or The Wonderful 101 comes out" option?

#21 Posted by Hector (3356 posts) -

I'll think I will wait for a price drop and more games. The majority of the games I can already get on 360, or PS3.

#22 Posted by ninjalegend (416 posts) -

I picked C because it's as close as this poll gets to my reasoning. I'm done getting consoles at launch just to have consoles at launch. If Nintendo or a 3rd party releases a game I have to have, then I will buy it. The kind of games I'm into now are on PS3/360 or XBLA/PSN/Steam. The 3 games that are coming out this year (Xcom, Assassins Creed 3, Dishonored) have me about as excited as I can get for games. And I can get every single one of them on the consoles I already have. Without Assassins Creed being leaps and bounds better on Wii U, I just don't have a reason.

#23 Posted by talkingtoast (85 posts) -

Of course I'll get one. With gaming hardware it is rarely a question of whether or not, just a matter of when. God knows there'll be good games.

#24 Posted by thatdutchguy (1271 posts) -

all the answers suck

#25 Posted by Turtlebird95 (2315 posts) -

If you want to know if someone is buying a Wii U there are like 50 threads/polls already asking the same question.

#26 Posted by sonicrift (293 posts) -

It took some time, and it was hard to notice, but if you take a look back at the Nintendo developed games that appeared on the Wii, you'll find some of Nintendo's best games of all time. If they can repeat that in a way that doesn't look all jaggy on my TV, I'll be happy. Preordered.

#27 Posted by Ezakael (917 posts) -

I might buy it when I have the money to do so. It looks interesting enough and it has a few games I wouldn't mind owning.

#28 Posted by Hizang (8533 posts) -

I'm going to pre-order it soon, honest.

#29 Posted by agentboolen (1754 posts) -

Nope I don't think anytime soon. I already have a Xbox 360 and recently this year bought a 80gb PS3 from a friend for $75 and at the moment I don't see any reason's to buy another system that is just going to deliver the same 3rd party games. Eventually I could see buying it for some really cool Mario / Nintendo games but at the moment I don't see anything worth spending $300 for. I'll probably do what i did with the gamecube and just buy it when its $99 and has a pack in and other favorites are $20.

#30 Posted by Snail (8584 posts) -

Okay, I think your options are a little biased.

First of all, who the fuck would answer "E"? Where is the simple "Yes" option? Why isn't there a "If I get it for Christmas I'll be pretty damn happy" option?

This poll is pretty sucky.

#31 Posted by sickVisionz (1268 posts) -

Maybe. If the standard for nest-gen multiplatform gaming includes 720/PS4/WiiU, then I'll go with WiiU because I can still get all the games I want as well as getting Nintendo games. If multiplatform comes to mean 720/PS4 only, then no. I won't be getting a Wii U.

#32 Posted by foggel (2763 posts) -

I meant to buy Wii when it went on sale, but never did. I voted C, but we'll see (not intended.) Maybe SmartGlass will turn out better.

#33 Posted by thebatmobile (979 posts) -

Congratulations for winning the prestigious "Worst poll of the year"-award!

#34 Posted by Grilledcheez (3943 posts) -

Probably not...I'm open to buying it down the road, but I doubt it will happen!

#35 Posted by Hippie_Genocide (541 posts) -

I picked C, but really I don't care about the price I'm just waiting until there's actually games that interest me (i.e. not ports of current gen games).

#36 Posted by JJOR64 (18916 posts) -

Already got it preordered.

#37 Posted by WinterSnowblind (7613 posts) -

I'll get one, eventually, but only when there's a bigger library of games and a bit of a price drop.

It'll probably be the only next-gen console I own, unless Sony or Microsoft do something really special.

Pretty much.

No, I don't think Nintendo sucks and I don't want to get a Wii-U.

#41 Posted by ArbitraryWater (11501 posts) -

It's going to take a price drop and a significant amount of notable first party titles to get me to buy a Wii-U, but even then I'm not quite sure. Get back to me in 2 years.

Phbbblt! One Fire Emblem release stateside and you'll buy it.

#43 Posted by Nightriff (4930 posts) -

Years from now I will get the console when hopefully solid game come out and such.

Nintendo gets so much hate online. Mostly from pretendos who act like they are nintendo fans but would never buy anything from them. The controll is better then your dual shock and if you want a uber power machine why the hell are you gaming on consoles in the first place?

#48 Posted by WilliamHenry (1201 posts) -

This poll should have had just two options: Yes or No. No need for the worthless other options.

#49 Posted by ninnanuam (267 posts) -

Fool me once Nintendo, shame on you, fool me the 4th time shame on me..... or something.

I don't hate Nintendo, nor do I think they suck but I have finally learned my lesson after buying the the N64, the Gamecube, and the Wii at launch and finding all of them disappointing (and progressively worse) I think i'm done being burned by Nintendo.

#50 Posted by Zuldim (288 posts) -

Where's the "when it gets a Zelda game" button?
