I have a quality PC but I just prefer to play a lot of stuff on consoles, and the quality difference is reallly starting to bug me. That and I'm pumped to see the new non-game stuff on the consoles, I've used my ps3 more as a set top box than anything else, curious to see what other uses I can get out of next gen.
If a new console came out today I dont think I would get one. After reading about them for 6-7 months tho I might have change of mind, but I'm mostly set on PC at this point.

Not at the moment. Maybe within the next year I might be ready for another new console, but it's not a priority right at the moment. I'm currently happy with the games I have to playthrough on my PS3, Wii, 3DS, and PC.
I'm worried that they are going to end up having gimmicky features that drive up costs like the Wii U or Vita or 3DS. If the processing power isn't a massive leap, I don't see myself caring that much. And more added-on things; like touch screens or 3d or nfc or headsets or wall-projecting virtual reality orwhatever, I think would really sap my interest.
I have this feeling that the current generation is going to have a lot of life in it for a few more years, even after the next stuff shows up. Unless Sony or MS go for it hard and really push things foreward, I think their biggest competition might be themselves.
I'm ready to see what they have to offer that's better than what's available now. The PC market has become so encompassing now though that new console launches are not as exciting to me as they once were. Better graphics and more realistic physics alone isn't enough anymore. Not when PCs almost get all the games that consoles get nowadays and can do them way better.
I'm more immediately interested in the Oculus Rift which actually seems like a dramatically new way to experience games.
I might not buy any of them right away, but I'm still excited and ready for that new new. Console advancements are a big part of what drive the whole industry forward, and this cycle has gone on long enough.
Nope. I just built a new rig and still have a massive backlog of shit from this gen. However, I'm not opposed to them coming out as it may spur innovation of new IP''s, games, etc., its just I won't be buying it anytime soon.
I game nearly solely on my PC now, but I'm looking forward to the next gen console exclusives. Ni No Kuni is going to be the first game I've played on a console in nearly a year, so I look forward to more games like it that appear only on consoles.
Eh not as much was i was before, just because I built a brand new pc recently. Obviously it's the software that will tempt me at first. If the launch lineup is formidable then I'll definately take the plunge. Same thing with the wii u, which I have hold of now.
I chose B. I would rather get a X-Box 360 slim, instead of a X-Box 720, or whatever it's going to be called. I've owned a white X-Box for three years, and it's still going strong.
I would say no, but since I'm starting a year of research in July, the answer is YES. I will finally have some time for gaming and it will be nice to try something new and exciting.
Unless I fall into some money that I can throw away I won't be buying them any time soon. They always take a year or two before they get a catalog of games worth playing on them, and by that time a price cut is usually around the corner as well. So I will be waiting for all that to happen. Plus I still got a huge backlog of current gen games so unless next gen is 100% backwards compatible I won't be buying them for even longer. I don't have the free ports on my TV or the physical space to plug in three more consoles ontop of the ones I have now.
On top of all that I only ever play games on consoles because the people who make them don't release them on PC. So That means it's going to take a while for them to get some good exclusives before I jump in since almost everything these days comes out on everything.
I've gone through 2 360s, my PS3 and my Wii have also both recently stopped working through no fault of mine. Honestly I'm ready to go all out PC. I'm tired of each generation of hardware getting progressively worse than the last lifespan wise. My Dreamcast, PS2, XBox1, GC (though not without their own issues), and all other consoles i own before those still work. Shit I want to go back to cartridges I have some genesis games that someone gave me after the casing on the carts were cracked open and they still work.
I've had both a PS3 and a 360 but I end up gaming on my pc 90% of the time. Still pondering getting the new PS when it comes out even if it is just to use it with friends coming over but I'm in no hurry to get it.
While I play on PC i'm looking forward to technology finally catching up. I'm pretty much over the kind of games that are built within the confines of the existing console platforms.
My recently built PC is going to be my next gen machine for the next couple years or so. Microsoft has burned too many bridges with me when it comes to their lack of commitment to exclusive's and focus on casual gaming plus the pay to play online model is unacceptable considering the competition. So the next Xbox will sit on the shelf unless Microsoft really comes with something compelling which I cannot get on my PC as well. I already own a Wii U (Honestly I should have waited but the trade in deal for my 360 was too good to pass up.) Still my kids love it and I never purchase a Nintendo system for anything other then Nintendo made games. Mario and Zelda will always be FTW. Sony is another company that will retain my support mainly because they never lost sight of the fact that exclusives are what defines a consoles identity. Games like Uncharted, Heavy Rain and the upcoming Last of Us show that Sony understands that gamers need new experiences not yearly reskins of the same FPS shooters. So the PS4 will be a future purchase once their exclusives begin to get rolling. Honestly my PC has pretty much shown me that it was and always will be the focal point that all gaming stems from making the next gen not something I'm overly hyped about.
