Are You Working On Your Top Games of The Year List?

Most if not all of the big titles are out on shelves so now it's only a matter of playing all of the damn games. I'm finally getting around to compiling a top 10 list for this year, I only have Skyrim and Skyward Sword to finish which I'll have to do this week now that I finally have a large amount of free time. I'm still thinking about tackling Deus Ex but I haven't even reached the first boss fight and I don't know if I care enough to continue.

Anyways, I'll probably post a list here later once I'm finished with all of the games I have so feel free to post yours if you have a top games list finalized.

Yes. I do a podcast so I imagine that at some point I'll have to have a solid list not just one where I'm constantly changing the order of shit.

I should probably get to work on Photoshopping up all the cool images I'll use for that end of year blog.

Yes, actually. I have separated my 2011 games out so I know what I bought this year. Eventually I'll get around to figuring out which ones I think are better.

I'm thinking I should change to a top 5 because I don't really see a lot of games that came out that interested me enough to justify making a full top 10. It was easier for me to do in 2010.

I'm going through all the 2011 games I played this year to see which were my favourite. I wish I could have gotten to more games, like Skyrim and Saints Row The Third, but yo dawg games are expensive. Most of the games that will be on my list will be from earlier in the year or during summer, like Mortal Kombat and Catherine. Number one will be hard for me, Uncharted 3 and Dead Space 2 are the two that are running through my head right now. If we had a top 10 list for the worst games you played in 2011 I would probably write L.A. Noire ten times. I don't usually sell games but man I couldn't get that game off my shelf faster.

I'm kind of sort of working on a list, but not really. I don't have it written down anywhere or anything, but I'm trying to come up with some kind of top ten for when or if they do that thing like they did last year where they compile everyone's top 10.

Yeah, i'm always working on my list I move the games about in a GB list throughout the year. I need to play Skyward Sword, Assassins Creed, Child of Eden and the rest of El Shaddai before I decide on my final 10, but it probably wont change much from what it is at the minute.

I've had a google doc that I have been filling out over the year, so as it looks right now it's pretty much finished. The only game I haven't played is AC: Revelations, but I plan on finishing it before the end of the year.

Yeah I still need to finish Batman and haven't bought Revelations yet but other than that, it's not a hard list for me to make. So far it's:

I think Uncharted 3 may not make my top ten this year given that the remaining two spots will probably go to Batman and Revelations.

Not really, still trying to play everything I can, and even then I don't care enough to make a list, really. So far I'd say my favorite three experiences, not necessarily games, but game experiences has been Skyrim, Bastion and Portal 2.

I knew that Skyrim was my goty by the 12th of November. However, I have absolutely no idea on what the other 9 shall be.

I would but I still really want to play Skyrim and Bastion. Thanks to Saints Row The Third I'm much more comfortable with placing my top 5 titles of the year now, even if the overall year has still been one of the most disappointing for this gen.

I've already got my list (I have no doubt SR3 would be a top 3 if I had the money for it ;_;), though it's mostly for my own benefit; though I still have to decide whether Catherine or Skyrim goes in #2 (#1, of course, is dominated by WITCHER 2)

I'm thinking about it. I'm probably just going to make a list of ALL the games I've played this year. Haven't played enough 2011 games.

Yup. Started last week, though I still have some big releases to play (BF3, MW3, SR3, and R3).

Best of lists are so stupid, in my opinion. Who honestly cares what a person thought was the number 5 best game of the year as opposed to the number 6 game of the year? If you have a list of games that rocked your socks, give them their due props. But trying to decide what makes a certain spot on the list and what doesn't is an exercise in futility.

Why do you need to "work" on a list? I could make a list, but I'm usually too busy working to have time for something like that. Oh well, I guess it's pretty slow right now...what the hell?

Still need to play AC and saints row.

AC probably doesn't matter that much for me, but Saints Row could if what I have been hearing from the Bombcast is right.

I've been thinking about albums but not really games. I know my Game of the Year and thats all I need.

I still need to play Uncharted 3, SR3 and AC:R and seeing how I have 3 exams the next 2 weeks and am going on a vacation for 1 month like 2 days after my last exam, I won't be getting to those games until mid January.

I haven't played a ton of new games this year but I think I could still put something together. This is how it looks so far:

I think I'll be able to cram in Saint Row before the year is over, and I'm still not finished with Skyrim, so the list could change some. Maybe I could manage a shorter game aswell (been thinking of getting games like Hard Reset and such).

I will probably do what I did last year and make two separate listblogs featuring the games that came out this year and the games that didn't. I've been working on both in an informal capacity for a while. Interestingly enough, the former usually gives me a lot more trouble than the latter, mostly because I have to remember what games actually came out this year.

I already have one as I have been doing it as the year goes by so I know how much I enjoyed the game and shit. I'd import it but that function is always broken for me.

It's too early for me to think about my favorites of the year in depth, but I have a short list of games that mattered to me this year.

I'm very close to putting E.Y.E. before DX, though I fear my view of DX was tainted by that ending, and EYE's ending is... incredible. Of course it didn't keep my save after I deleted the local content so fuck EYE D:

All I've got for input is UMvC3, Skyrim, Dark Souls, and Bastion. Won't have KoFXIII till later in the year, but that's undoubtedly a contender for around 4th or 5th.  
 
Those are easily in my 5. Dark Souls and Skyrim going at it for 1 and 2, Bastion rounding that up and then the two fighting games.  
 
EDIT: If I had spent all that money on PC parts, I would have The Witcher 2 somewhere in there as well. Just remembered that one. 

I feel so terribly behind. But at least I have solid grades and 85 hours invested in Skyrim. So that must count for something.

Not at all. There are a few games I still need to play before I think about that.

Probably something like this (in no particular order, other than Skyrim being first)

Skyrim, Forza 4, BF3, LA Noire, Mortal Kombat, Minecraft (since it's officially released), Catherine, Portal 2 maybe (have to finish it first, I like it though).

Kairosoft games on my phone get special mention because they are insanely addicting. I have a few more I need to play first as well (Like Binding of Isaac, and I need to play more Bastion, I've only played it for around an hour so far).

I still need to play so many of the games that will end up being near the top of that list! Witcher 2, Yakuza 4, Child of Eden, Alice, Rayman Origins, Skyrim, Skyward Sword, Saints Row...suddenly what was reasonable piled up!

I will post my GOTY list and my "2011 Awards" on the 31st of December as I always do, so I have a bit of extra time. I'm only concentrating on playing games now that I think will be in the list, so I'm going to have to leave Driver, Alice, Rage, LBP, Warhammer till next year.
I still need to finish Zelda, Professor Layton, Super Mario, Saints Row, Rayman and when it comes out Mario Kart.
My problem has been that I can't remember much about early 2011 games like DS2, LA Noire, Bulletstorm other than I really liked then, so placing them will be tough.
