Battlefield 3 and Modern Warfare 3. Which are you going to buy for what platforms? - [Poll]
Neither of them for nothing. I might have picked up Battlefield 3 on Steam when it dropped to around $20, but apparently EA hates money so I won't be able to.
BF3 for the PC, because, well, that's where you're supposed to play BF3. Modern Warfare 3 for the console, because that game is a really shitty experience on the PC but it's still a lot of fun on the console as long as you can cope with the racism and homophobia (which is worse some times over others).
Eventually, both for PC probably. BF3 will be pre-ordered for PC on October 26. I won't buy MW3 until I can get it for 20 or 30 bucks later down the line unless I hear the campaign is actually amazing.
@Matthew: You do have a point, this one is actually good compared to the others. It's just that this whole thing is getting so far out there with the fanboy war, I'm just trying to avoid it, so I can stick to my plan of buying BF3 and playing the hell out of it. You know, without any of this fringe clash between the two games filling my head with rage. It's nothing personal, dude, so don't sweat it.
ill be getting BF3 for PC. i doubt i'll get MW3, nothing against it but i'd much rather have BF3 and my budget cant really support two modern military shooters within a month or two of each other. but if i got MW3 it'd be for console but currently i have no real interest in getting it.
Im not sure Ill be these two games so I voted for the last option. However, if I were to buy these two games I would probably get BF3 on the PC and MW3 on the PS3
The last option - except I like shooters (and actively dislike medieval fantasy RPGs), just not those shooters.
So, I guess option I, except replace Skyrim with Rage (for PC - provided it gets good reviews/reception).
happily pirating Call of Duty since 2009, I don't waste full price on yearly expansion packs
buying BF3 for PC
I may play the single player of MW3 on PC, just to see how the story ends. I bought BC2 on PC... never making that mistake again. I just can't find any kind of fun from either the SP or the MP of the Battllefield series since 1942.
But generic modern military shooters are generic modern military shooters. Dime a dozen, no matter how rabid people get over them.
er... None of the above...
You don't put any discernible time-scale on the purchase.
I don't currently put any games on my PC, so I suspect I'll be buying both on the PS3. But who knows, at some point in the future I may cave and buy BF3 on the PC as well.
Also I will more than likely be buying Skyrim at some point as well as the aforementioned shooters. They are definitely not mutually exclusive. Then there's Uncharted3 to factor into the buying time-line equation.
These next few months are not that simplistic.
BF3 for 360 (although I'm sure my pc could run it fine), the people I play with all the time play on 360.
My current PC isn't good enough (building one in April cross my fingers hope to God I have the money), so just BF3 for consoles right now. I spent so much time on MW2 (as in 400+ hours i don't really know for sure) but that's the problem with MW3, it's exactly the same game, just with rebalanced weapons and perks. BF3, just looks beautiful, and a really nice change of pace in shooters for me since I only spent maybe 40 hours in BC2 and that was quite a while ago.
Probably none. I might buy 360 MW 3 later when the price drops. Not a big fan of modern military shooters.
Battlefield for PS3. I quit CoD after MW2, I feel like the game was trying to be to much and lost its fun and arcade appeal that sucked me in so many years ago.
If CoD ever wants any of money again they need to cut killstreaks back to 3,5,7 and ditch pro perks. CoD 4 was so fin because it was rather simple and well balanced. New Cods are 100% about the killstreaks.....and there are way to many of them. I could go on but I wont....
Torn between console or pc for BF3, buying a new lcd makes it hard to go back to sitting at a desk...even though I know the game will be better there :(

@i69edUrGpa: If you have a PC that can handle BF3 I would say get it there for sure, no doubt!
You are very correct that the PC will be the better experience and mine will be able to hand it but that beautiful tv is such an evil temptress!
BF3 for PC at launch and maybe an extra copy for PS3. Likely waiting for a 'all DLC included GotY edition' though.
As for other games this season. I've RAGE preordered. Likely will get Dark Souls, if there's any time between completing RAGE and BF3. Later down the line I'm up for some NFS The Run - that game looks like pure joy, just like Hot Pursuit.
Will wait for the first price drop for Uncharted 3 and Batman Arkham City. Going to get Skyrim in the GotY edition next year or whenever I've got nothing else to play. It's always smart not to play Bethesda games right off the bat.
