I think they can just throw walking dead in with game of the year and call it even (given the next 3 episodes are just as good as the first 2)

A new Double Fine Adventure game, a Jane Jensen adventure game, and Broken Sword 5 coming next year?!

Also, out of the ones above, I've played Walking Dead, Botanicula, and Resonance and all three have been great.

Haven't tried any Daedalic games because of the fear of bad voice acting, but heard they're designed well.

On one hand, What is an adventure game any more. If your sugesting they create a category for point and click games with puzzle mechanics then I agree.

Also Pink Eye of Dark Chains.

The Walking Dead is the first adventure game I've been excited about in a very long time. So it's the obvious choice for me.

From what I've played I prefer Botanicula (because I really like Amanita games), but I think that the best one is Walking Dead. Even if all the episodes didn't came out yet, just by its first episode (I still haven't played the second episode; I'll prefer to wait and play when all of them come out), I think this series has good quality writing, voice-acting and animations. It's also a different take on Adventure games.

Don't forget Pendulo's game: Yesterday. And there is also Deponia from Daedalic Entertainment. A lot of good adventure games this game. :)

From AdventureGamers:

Adventure games focus on puzzle solving within a narrative framework, generally with few or no action elements.

Anyway, there's also Zero Escape and Layton 5 for 3DS.

So far my favourite would be Stacking, if that counts as being this year :o Walking Dead is also pretty good so far...

The Walking Dead is really great. I haven't played The Book of Unwritten Tales yet. It seems to be a great year for adventure games though.

I've only played Botanicula out of those. Journey Down look good though.
