There are alot of really great fighting games out now for the ps3 and 360. Many of them are playable with the standard controller, but are designed for a 4 or 6 face button joystick. Unfortunately many joysticks are out of the standard consumers price range, coming in at well over 100 dollars, such as the Hori Real Arcade Pro stick, or the Madcatz SF4 TE stick. Many of the cheaper joystick options are not of quality construction, like the madcats non-TE SF4 stick.

However there is a nice compromise that until about 2 weeks ago had been sold out for months, the Hori EX2 stick.

It's made with quality Hori parts with a square gate. Some people have trouble getting used to a square gate, but that is the styl favored by alot of japanese players, as it encourages the user to make small, quick command input motions instead of slower, more exaggerated movements encouraged by sticks with octagonal gates. The stick can be purchased on Amazon for 49.99 and I already have two myself, one is the standard edition and on is the SC4 special edition. Here is the link.

im not sure its quite as good as the EX2, but its in the price range.

just pointing this out since alot of people are looking for economical sticks.
