I have a bunch of other games waiting for me, but recently I've been hearing about these "free" games that are apparently "really good". Anyone care to share?

Microsoft Flight is pretty damn good.

Lord Of The Rings Online has a very fair model. The game itself can be fun but like alot of MMO's, it becomes repetitive.

This certainly isn't helping my case.

Tribes: Ascend is still good even if it isn't as good as the pre-open beta version.

Why can't you post fucking gifs on this site.

What possible GIF could you get from Katawa Shoujo :P?

@LordXavierBritish: because you haven't figured out how to do it.

League of Legends

This. Also Super Monday Night Combat, although still in beta, is fantastic and is also F2P.

Another more obvious choice is Team Fortress 2. If you haven't played it yet, then you are stupid. Yes, stupid.

Aion is going / is already 'truly' f2p now and it's fucking miles better than it used to be.

In Team Fortress 2, you can get every weapon without paying a penny if you like. How is this not free2play?

I have indeed played TF2, although I don't agree that not playing a video game makes you stupid.

...what? I never said it wasn't. I was talking srictly abou Aion there. When most people say an MMO is f2p, it implies it's f2p, but you still have to pay for some content. That is not the case with Aion and I was just trying to get that point across.

Ok. But In Lord Of The Rings: Online, you are aren't actually forced to pay for any essential content. Most of the stuff sold are minor boosters, vanity items and some quest packs. You can run around practically all of the game without dropping a cent.

League of Legends.

DCU is fun making your hero or villain, but it suffers from the grind of all MMOs.

Tribes: Ascend

League of Legends if you like being called horrible things when you don't do well.

I enjoy APB Reloaded. Just don't play it by yourself.

Another vote for SMNC. If anyone needs a invite, PM me.

Aion. Best free-2-play mmo on the market.

LOTRO is great.

#25 Posted by HadesTimes (804 posts) -

League of Legends for sure. But Rusty Hearts is also really good. The nice thing about those two is that you are never forced to buy stuff just to compete. Also, of course, Team Fortress 2. I would offer that TF2 is probably the BEST F2P.

It's a gross exaggeration that comes from my deep love for the game, it makes me pretty ignorant about the possibility of people not liking it.

Also as said, I also have some beta invites for Super Monday Night Combat, just PM me if you are interested.

@SSully: Is it on PC?

Super monday night combat and League of Legends are both amazing PC games

League of Legends is always fun, and while I haven't gotten into it as much as I would've wanted to, DC Universe Online is neat.

League of Legends (competitive, addictive, well made, new content every few weeks, HUGE fan base, played in big tournaments all over the world, deep and complex)

Katawa Shoujo (interesting graphic novel, good characters, very good taste, and some sex in there also. I think of it as a persona game with no gameplay but better story and characters)

Heroes of Newerth (similar to league of legends only more serious and even more complex and hardcore, but a lot less original and polished. I hate the community of this game though, very bad mannered, even more so then in LoL)
