Across all platforms and generations, what are your favorite multiplayer fps maps? User made maps count too.

My favorites are probably Ultraviolence and Aerowalk (Quake user made), dm2 (Quake), q2dm1, q3dm6... Tempest, Turbine & Deck6 (UT 99), Dust and Cobblestone (Counterstrike), and every map in Rune because you could beat someone to death with their own severed limbs

Quake III's DM17 and Unreal Tournament's Facing Worlds are far and away my favourites.

The Facility Goldeneye map is also pretty good, as is de_dust for CounterStrike.

Quake - dm4 - The verticality of this map blew me away at the time.

Duke Nukem 3D - dhouse (user made) - Amazing 1v1 level.

1942 - Wake Island - Spent hours on that multiplayer demo.

Gotham City Impostors - Crime Alley - My favorite map from this amazingly fun yet tragically overlooked multiplayer FPS.

Team Fortress (Quake Mod) - 2fort4 - Wasted whole nights camped in the flag room with pipebombs in the entry way to support and protect my buddy's sentry gun in the hall. Jerks like us are the reason new 2fort has 2 paths to the flag.

I've been playing some of the new UT4 alpha, and it has a remake of Deck16 that feels just like it did 15 years ago. The funny part is it's still a mostly-untextured test map, but that just makes it look more like it did in UT99. There's a new Facing Worlds too, although I usually just play DM. Give the new UT a try if you haven't yet, it is way more solid than the "alpha" label implies.

Anzio and Harrington (Day of Defeat):

Day of Defeat offers some of the best infantry capture and hold gameplay and the maps play a big role in this. Anzio and Harrington are good examples of that. Multiple parts of the maps designed for different playstyles (short and long range) and good flag placement so you have to split up the team to gain control.

DM13 (Quake 3)

Not the best Quake map around, but I always liked it. Wasn't a big fan of the rail gun when the game came out and this map doesn't have one. And the whole design combination of flesh and gothic is kinda cool.

WMD (Black Ops):

One of the better CoD maps. It works for various gamemodes and it has multiple area's you have to fight over to control the game, yet you couldn't camp your ass off because each area had multiple entry points you couldn't cover from one place.

Caspian Border (Battlefield 3):

A very good map for combined warfare. Not too flat so infantry don't get mowed down by vehicles all the time and not too much empty space between capture points, but still spacious enough for enjoyable vehicle gameplay.

UT Facing Worlds.

Almost any Big Team Battle Map from Halo 3 with vehicles: Rat's Nest, Standoff, Avalanche, Valhalla (not Sandbox except for custom games). And of course High Ground and Last Resort for smaller based vehicular bullshit.

I played a lot of splitscreen Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death on a map called Block War. I think we also turned on some sort of low gravity ragdoll cheat to enhance the experience.

Halo's Blood Gulch for just all around ridiculousness, but my favorite map of any MP game was definitely Night Stalker from Socom. Desert Glory was also really solid.

I imagine people would say Facing Worlds, but in all actuality Facing Worlds is not a very good map, just a popular/iconic one. Lot of other UT and Quake 3 maps are solid though. Aside from custom maps Operation Overlord comes to mind.

In a modern sense Station from World at War is a shitload better than every other CoD map I've ever seen, just perfect for momentum, flanking and so forth; once had a knife kill streak of 8-9 on the map (my mouse was broken) just due to how flexible the movement options are.

Assuming this won't be expanded to other genres the Castel Gandolfo map from AC Brotherhood and Revelations is probably the best multiplayer map in anything period; just a perfect example of how to make non symmetry feel like symmetry; where anyone can be a threat anywhere on the map at any time. Brewery DM from AC3 is similar and regular ass Brewery is also good. Grey Rampart non rush from MGSV on Comm Control is fantastic, Arathi Basin in World of Warcraft and Nordenwatch from Warhammer Online are the best for the MMO genre.

de_cache and de_mirage from CS:GO. I'm personally not a huge fan of de_dust2, but I appreciate it's balance and longevity. In terms of community maps for that game, aim_agtexture_city_advanced is pretty good. Also most of the maps in COD4.

I also really like all the maps in Titanfall. That games mobility make them all fun to play on.

Blizzard- Demolition- Alaska = SOCOM US Navy SEALs
Fox Hunt- Escort- Albania = SOCOM 2
Sujo - Breach- Brazil = SOCOM 2
Enowapi- Breach- Brazil = SOCOM 2

Actually, there are too many fantastic SOCOM maps between the first two games to name them all.

Perfect Dark had some great maps, with Warehouse being one of the most complex and varied. Area 52 was great for some of our custom maps, especially one hit kills with laptop guns and cloaking to get in that area with the four towers.

And Battle Creek in Halo 1 made way for a ton of memorable matches.
