Since you bought it just last week, why don't you just return it to the store you bought it from?

Did you pick it up from Argos? You could always take it back there they are kind of good that way sometimes.

Why not give them a call and see? I don't know what Currys is though, I don't live in the UK.

Yes Currys will let you take it back, just be quick about it, whether they give you the money back i don't know but they should certainly let you exchange for a compatible TV

I'd get a new TV so you do not run into this problem in the future.

Buy an external sound system on the cheap, and change the output device for the PS3. The loss you'd make in trading it in is probably worth a decent one anyways.

I use that, and that works, there's the 2.1 version of that aswell, I'd take a guess and say it's the same thing just with less speakers. X-240 is the one with less speakers.

To change it go to system settings > sound settings > output. If you connect both the HDMI and the composite (at least I think that's what that cable is called.), you can change the output to composite and then connect that to the speakers.

OR The better idea, you could connect both cables and run the sound through the composite, it doesn't cost anything. Just use both cables.
