Fragile Dreams, because I vote for the obvious loser.

Mass Effect 2 is gonna win, isn't it?

what do you qualify as soundtrack? music made for a game? or music that happened to be in a game? (*cough* Hotline Miami)

Either one. It's fast and loose in here. Choose however you like.

I voted for trails, because I'm pretty sure no-one else will.

@yummylee: I'VE CARVED MY OWN PATH, YOU FOLLOWED YOUR WRATH, BUT MAYBE WE'RE BOTH THE SAAAAAAAMMEEEEE!

#8 Posted by Hailinel (23698 posts) -

Xenoblade Chronicles, of course.

#9 Posted by DonChipotle (2693 posts) -

It has to be Remember Me. Nothing against the others (I like most of these choices!) but fucking Remember Me's soundtrack is literally the best thing about that game with the visual design being in second. Every song sounds all glitched and fake-remixed to tie into the abilities of the protagonist and it just sounds like an electro-paradise. Like computers and shit. Fancy French computers.

Portal 2 doesn't just have good music on its own, it also complemented what was happening in the game very well.

Rock Band 3 being included here just seems kind of like apples to oranges. It has the best songs out of everything in the list, but I don't really feel comfortable considering it a "soundtrack."

This list is a nightmare. How am I suppose to choose?

#13 Posted by Brendan (7670 posts) -

Xenoblade for this group.

#14 Posted by big_jon (5708 posts) -

There are some great ones in there but I truly love the Halo 4 soundtrack.

#15 Posted by ViciousBearMauling (866 posts) -

Come on. It's so dumb and awesome.

#16 Posted by Guesty_01 (339 posts) -

Xenoblade, followed closely by Rayman.

The Unfinished Swan because I nominated it. The music just brought you into this storybook world, and that part where you're climbing while the water rises was simply incredible.

But I really enjoyed the Prince of Persia soundtrack. Coupled with the art, it was just such a gorgeous experience throughout.

Although Mass Effect 3 did a great job establishing its mood. And Dust had some damn good tracks.

And that Mistral fight in Revengeance, when that cool vocal part hits... I had the dumbest smile on my face (I do right now, actually). And when you fight the Ray and it syncs to the part where you block its punch (RULES OF NATURE!!!). And all the times I heard the ridiculous final boss music. Oh god, I should've voted for Revengeance.

Violence, breeds violence, but in the end it has to be this way!!!

I need a sequel to Revengeance sooner than later.

Choose Xenoblade.

I have a feeling some people are just voting for their favorite game and not the best soundtrack. I mean, Dark Souls has a lot great qualities, but I can't recall a single standout piece of music from that game.

#20 Posted by DarthOrange (3841 posts) -

HOW THE FUCK IS HEAVY RAIN NOT WINNING!?!?!?!? HAVE YOU GUYS HEARD IT BEFORE?!?!?!?

HOW ARE DARK SOULS, HALO, MASS EFFECT AND SLEEPING DOGS ALL AHEAD OF IT!?!?!?

you kidding? Gwyn, lord of cinder, Four Kings, Artorias of the Abyss were all fantastic.

Aaaahhh. The Journey soundtrack still gets me a little misty.

Hm, surprised RDR getting the shaft so far. Such amazing music, and the way all the songs flow into each other depending on time of day and moon was super, super cool. My pick hands down of this group.

@darthorange: I feel the same way about Child of Eden. I guess so few people played the game, as the music is amazing.

Oowhaa??

You mean to say none of those stuck with you? And they're just a few of my favourites, but the soundtrack as a whole to both Dark and Demon's Souls I think is superb.

EDIT: Ha, never noticed someone else had already responded to you about this.

People voting for Metal Gear Rising are having a laugh, right? Like when people put Linken Park on a jukebox at a pub for a laugh?

These polls are rather large.

@hayt: Or they love fun, stupid, Japanese butt-rock playing when they cut cyborgs apart?

Fuck yeah.

I didn't vote for it, but I salute those voting for BlazBlue: Continuum Shift. That is some awesome music.

I thought so, too. But then I listened to some of the tracks again and it's SO GOOD.

#33 Posted by Pr1mus (3780 posts) -

The game i voted for has 1%. It's more than zero so it got that going for it.

#34 Posted by GrantHeaslip (1506 posts) -

I should probably have used my vote to help a game that wasn't a shoe-in, but I couldn't not vote for Xenoblade.

#35 Edited by Tom_omb (326 posts) -

What's with all this piano music? Aren't we talking about video games? You want video game music Scott Pilgrim and Anamanaguchi have you covered.

#36 Posted by DeadpanCakes (778 posts) -

When I played Xenoblade, the soundtrack didn't really stand out to me. Which is crazy, 'cause listening to it back now, it's pretty fantastic.

Still though, gotta go with Journey.

I guess I should blame myself for completely missing the nomination thread, but man, how the fuck did WH40k: Space Marine not make it into any of these damn polls?

#38 Posted by dudeglove (7684 posts) -

Jesper Kyd ffs.
