Black Ops just didn't feel right. I'm not sure if it was the setting, weapons or simply the gameplay, but it kind of lacked character. I haven't quite decided whether or not MW3 made a similar blunder though. MW3 feels a lot different, but I'll give it some time before claiming that MW2 felt like a better game.
MW2 just seems like it had a very solid direction and the teams vision was realized. From the art direction and models to the maps, everything had heart. Whereas recently I've felt that devs are slapping random camouflage all over the place and moving on. For a completely random example look at juggernauts; in MW2 encountering a juggernaut in SpecOps was terrifying and thrilling, from the moment you hear his introductory sound effect to the moment you catch the first glimpse of his beige equipment. In MW3 it's not an intriguing encounter, he just looks like every other dude but he takes a few more shots - it's not as intimidating for some reason. You know, I don't even know if I'm even making any sense - perhaps I just don't like change. I love MW2 Spec Ops and the multiplayer was just as great online.
@Branthog: why does this need to be flagged? It's a fair question. They were released quite close together, and are from different developers. A lot of people have opinions on which is the better game out of these 2 specifically.
in my opinion i prefer MW2 but since Black Ops make zombie and nuke town well those are the best places and very entertainment but MW2 got more variety of weapon xD
I definitely played more MW2, Black Ops was good too, though. MW2 was actually really fun until dipshits just started cheezing nukes all day. Two friends would be on opposite teams, and they'd have one kill the other 25 times and end the game with a nuke. How annoying. Anyway, World at War is still my favorite.

Because it's just another of the 20 spammy "durp durpa herpa durp?" no-content vaguely-trollish poll questions this guy posted in the same ten or fifteen minutes.
Its a tough call for me. I like them both and they have their slight differences but also very similar. I think I had the most fun with BLOPS, between the zombies and matchmaking I was always looking for more.
Modern Warfare 2 was more fun and had better maps!!!!!!!!!!! But man was it unbalanced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pre-Patch 1887s, the javelin glitch, quickscoping, danger close OMA noob tubing, the list goes on and on!!!!!!!!!! Black Ops was at least kind of balanced!!!!!!!!! Even if those RC cars totally sucked!!!!!!!!
I hated Modern Warfare 2's online but I will not lie, I really enjoyed the campaign, to the point where I did it on Veteran and even enjoyed that. It also introduced me to my favorite antagonist from any series ever... no prizes for guessing who.
