for me it was facebreaker, i really wanted to like that game but I felt the combat was too simple and repetitive,

#2 Posted by Vinchenzo (6466 posts) -

GTA IV. What a piece of shit.

#3 Posted by Shawn (3843 posts) -

I really can't tell you, none of the games I've really been looking forward to have let me down.

#4 Posted by Arkthemaniac (6872 posts) -

GTA4 for me too. It was way too gritty for its own good.

#5 Posted by fraser (543 posts) -

Soul Calibur 4 maybe, just cos nothing else has really dissapointed me that much.

#6 Posted by shadows_kill (3093 posts) -

Mercs 2. I had such high hopes for that game, I loved the original mercs, but mercs 2 just screamed of mediocrity.

For me it was Too human....was so hyped for that game until I actually played it (>.<)

#14 Posted by ParanoidFreak (1485 posts) -

I'd say Soul Calibur 4. It just felt too old fashioned.

How?

Biggest let down this year is my penis size.

OH SNAP JAY KAY! :D
#16 Posted by samcotts (2388 posts) -

Haze anyone?

#17 Posted by TripleAgent (64 posts) -

Spore. Of course, there is no way it could live up to such massive hype.

#18 Posted by Demyx (3240 posts) -

I can't really think of anything. Every game I bought this year, and played, I thought were very good.

That is a question I'd rather not answer because I am not up for starting an argument right now.

You smell funny and have bad skin problems.
Now we see what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovible object.

How could I of forgot Spore. Maybe because it's actually a good game, just nowhere near as good as it could of been. I had high hopes for Spore.
#23 Posted by Sparky_Buzzsaw (7026 posts) -

Lost Odyssey.  Man, I had high hopes for that game, and I actually do love the gameplay, but so help me God, I'm tired of little kids in my RPG's.  I know, funny thing to hate a game for, right?  But that's the whole game in a nutshell - a lot of stupid JRPG cliches drag down what could have been one hell of an RPG.  I'd just like a straight-up adult themed JRPG for the 360.

Runner-ups:  GTAIV (great story, great characters, bland and repetitve gameplay until some of the later missions - and no car customization!), Too Human, and Infinite Undiscovery.

GTAIV I guess I'd say.

Too Human / Mercs 2

EDIT: and Wii in general.

#26 Posted by HandsomeDead (11854 posts) -

I reckon the biggest let downs are still to come, but so far, definitely Too Human.

I'm not trying to start troubles, I'd just like to know what you didn't like about it. To me it wasn't that big of a deal and I still think MGS2 is better.
#28 Posted by fresh2deafbill (914 posts) -

gonna have to say the Bourne Conspiracy. i had hopes for that game

#29 Posted by Gunner612 (4390 posts) -

Mercs 2.. I loved the original and was expecting the second one to be no less than amazing.. boy was i wrong.

I agree with this.  Definitely my biggest disappointment so far this year.

Just start a PM conversation with him.  I don't want a heated argument to break out either, because we all know someone with a strong opinion will chime in.
#31 Posted by Demilich (2648 posts) -

Personally, GTAIV.

#32 Posted by Milkman (17996 posts) -

Can one of you back-up why GTA IV was the biggest disappointment of the year? Because frankly, I don't understand in a year full of Hazes, Too Humans and Mercs 2s that someone could say with a straight face that GTA is the biggest disappointment.

#33 Posted by Linkyshinks (11405 posts) -

Spore

SWFU

SC4

 Nintendo's E308

Gamespot really going down the shitter after hiring the worst possible people they could.

#34 Posted by Dj (1044 posts) -

I would say Burnout Paradise, I thought it would change everything but instead it was still the same things I hate about it with a slightly different game surrounding it.

#35 Posted by Demilich (2648 posts) -

Because I didn't look forward to Haze, Too Human or Mercenaries?

I was hoping GTA would be great, and it was first the first couple days. Then I realized how shallow it was. Unlike San Andreas, where you can ride hovercrafts down mountains, fly planes into towers and hijack monster trucks, GTAIV is basically GTA3 in high definition.

Not sure if you agree with me, but I hate the open world of Paradise. I love the other Burnouts because they are quick and exciting, run on a mostly linear path, and don't require you to drive to your damn destination. I want to pop into a race, and race. I think Criterion got caught up in the big deal with sandboxes lately. I hope they continue Burnout, but take out the free world.

Honestly, Spore.  My Will Wright fanboyism might say otherwise, but since I haven't really played it in over a month, I'd say I'm not totally satisfied.  And to think I thought this was Game of the Year material.

#40 Posted by Black_Rose (7772 posts) -

SSBB, it's a good game, but far from the best game on the wii.

MGS4 for me , really thought they could make the boss battles something special
#42 Posted by TrickStyle (37 posts) -

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars for the 360. What a lagfest POS. Hate it when people decide to quit the game and you are left playing with bots.

The Club - I thought it will turn out to be a good multiplayer game. I was wrong :(
