We have all been through it, the moment you open up that package of a brand new game and you start to play it, you try and convince yourself that it isn't nearly as bad as it really is, and that it will get better....but ....it.. doesn't.....so tell me which game gave you major buyers remorse? Any recent games?
Personally Assassins Creed 1 was a sickening blow for me. It never got good, only just very very repetitive.
Buyers remorse?
I wish I didn't buy Alien vs Predator. AvP2 was so damn awesome but this...this sucks. Screw you, Rebellion. :'(
Prototype. Pre-ordered, paid in full.
It has caused me to refuse buying a game for $60 unless it comes with a $20 pre-order gift card.
I regret all the time and money I put into Game Room, now that it's crashed and wiped all my progress.
Mine are possibly in the future. lol
I don't know if Alan Wake will be worth the 70$ i'll pay for it... I'll wait a little before buying it, to get a feeling for the game.
But from what i've got my biggest disappointments had to be God of War and Naruto Ultimate Ninja 5. Not that they're bad, but while GoW's finishing moves almost broke a pad i had and felt unbelievably frustrating, NUN5 was weak compared to the 3rd installment.
Also got RE5, but already knew i wouldn't like it much. Just bought it for the limited edition red xbox 120gb bundle.
Trials HD. Not sure why I paid 1200 points for it when I can play a free version on several different websites.
Lead & Gold: Gangs of the West. It only cost me 14 bucks but still. The laggyness makes the game almost unplayable.
I can honestly say I've never regretting buying a game. Maybe it's because I rarely buy games unless I know I'm going to like them, or they are at least widely acclaimed. The only thing close has been "why did I buy this now? I won't have time to play it until at least next week!"
I never bought MGS2, but I regretted renting it. I hated that game. Loved MGS1, but I only kept playing because I wanted to play as Snake again, which never happened. :(
It's not really remorse it's just a waste of money for many of the listed titles below.
WET; I enjoyed the game but it was way too short. Coulda waited and not gotten it at release paying 30-40 for it would of been a better move.
NHL10; I havent even opened it and regular season of the NHL is about to end. I shoulda stuck with my copy of NHL09
Mass Effect 2; Again release day and havent played it yet still working on ME1; saw it on Amazon for deal of the day for half of what i paid for my PC copy and was disappoiinted at myself.
There are other games on my shelf that i havent played yet however i've made it a point to stop buying games i dont plan to play within a week or two of purchasing.
" @Meltac said:Whaaat? I didn't even know that." True Crime: Streets of LA "Don't disrespect. It had Christopher Walken, god damnit. "
Game suddenly became part of some random top 10 list in my head!
" @nanikore said::O .. I will buy it again, and play it, and love it!" @Meltac said:Whaaat? I didn't even know that. Game suddenly became part of some random top 10 list in my head! "" True Crime: Streets of LA "Don't disrespect. It had Christopher Walken, god damnit. "
I got buyers remorse about a month after I bought my PS3. Stupid I didn't realize there weren't any games I cared about on it. Bye bye 400 dollars!
" Trials HD. Not sure why I paid 1200 points for it when I can play a free version on several different websites. "It's funny, because I played all the free versions, jumped at the chance to buy the HD version, and still felt buyer's remorse. WTF.
I ended up really, really hating Trials HD. Just a waste of time and pointlessly frustrating. Never felt like I was getting any better.
Socom Confrontation, Banjo Kazooie Nuts 'n' Bolts (I don't know why, I just hated it), and maybe Heavy Rain...I did enjoy it, but I definitely don't think it's worth $60.
" @nanikore said:I remember there being a lot of famous/semi-famous voice actors for that game." @Meltac said:Whaaat? I didn't even know that. Game suddenly became part of some random top 10 list in my head! "" True Crime: Streets of LA "Don't disrespect. It had Christopher Walken, god damnit. "

" I bought X-Men Legends after getting Marvel: Ultimate Alliance and loving it. X-Men Legends, however, was much more simplified and shallow in comparison. Maybe if I got X-men first, I would have loved it, but MUA set a high bar and XML didn't come anywhere near it. "Oh yeah dude. I played the original when it first came out. It was a blast, but now trying to go back to it is damn near impossible. X-Men Legends 2 still holds up pretty well though. It's pretty similar to the original MUA.
As for me, Too Human was a pretty big let down. I was so pumped for it in the months leading up to it (although it was hard not to ignore all the negative press it was getting). It was still a good game. I got a good 50+ hours out of it, but the story wasn't that compelling, and all you had to look forward to after that was a mindless grindfest. Normally I wouldn't mind grinding, but there wasn't any reason to do so. In the end, you were grinding for the sake of grinding, and nothing else.
Jurassic Park for the SNES was pretty bad too. To this day I still regret not buying that awful TMNT fighting game (also SNES) instead. Not that I wouldn't have also regretted that decision.
" @xyzygy said:No, I just buy all my multi plats for the 360 for achievements and there are few exclusives I am interested in for my PS3. The only one I'm looking forward to right now is Versus 13, can't wait to see what that one's like." @Burns098356GX said:wow do you guys not like games or something?? " @dbz1995 said:Well to be fair I think they wanted to add more content which would of made the grinding more meaningful (I suppose) but yeah... we all saw how that turned out." I still find it kind-of an embarrassing (on their part) bummer that there has been DLC tabs and DLC sections in all the stores in the game of Too Human only for it to be empty from day one. Oh well though.
