so this is one of the reveals out of the way by capcom, this one is being developed by wayforward

word is that its a full on remaster of the original ducktales game.

word from polygon is that its releasing this summer for 1200 points and 15 bucks elseware. and word from joystiq is the remake includes a couple of new features such as a museum and "A MONEY BIN YOU CAN ACTUALLY SWIM IN!"

according to joystiq, no platforms were announced, but they saw the xbox and kinect logo in the background,

very safe to assume this is a downloadable game for xbla and psn :P

The gameplay looks very similar to the NES games, maybe too similar. But hey, WayForward is a reliable studio and the world needs more Duck Tales, so I'm on-fucking-board!

yea, if i had the ability to edit topic titles i would have changed it to be capcom is releasing a hd remake of duck tales.

I am pretty excited to get this game. The gameplay of the original still holds up pretty well today.

With Age of Empires 2 and now this getting HD-ified this year, I have no issue turning into my childhood self once again. GOTY will be tough between these two.

Update:DuckTales Remastered is actually a full remake of the NES game, with new features including a museum and "A MONEY BIN YOU CAN ACTUALLY SWIM IN!" So we've now solved that mystery, and rewritten history to reflect it.

EDIT: Holy shit I can't remember the last time something hit my nostalgia button so fucking hard. This game defined my childhood.

Well, I'll gladly buy it still. The original is one of my favorite games on the NES of all time, so I sure don't mind an HD update, provided that it's good, of course. The NES game had so many nice little animation touches, like Scrooge's hat hovering the air for a moment when you crouch and the way he shakes when you try to hit something. It really captured the spirit of the show.

Gotta say, didn't see that coming. Never had an attachment to Duck Tales, but I know that I lot of people love it and have been wanting a comeback, so I'm happy for them.

This looks ugly as sin, I'd rather play the NES version. They should've just asked Disney to have their animators whip up some hand-drawn backgrounds and better sprites, I'd be so down for a Duck Tales remake that looked something like Wario Land: The Shake Dimension.

I was really excited about this until I saw the trailer. It looks really terrible. The character sprites look okay, but everything else looks like complete garbage. I feel like I'm watching test footage where all of the background stuff is using placeholder assets.

I'm pretty cautious about these things ever since that Turtles in Time remaster.

I don't think I like the new look for it.

remember to keep in mind folks, this isnt coming out till summer, so id have to imagine there is time for polish still.

On the stream, they said what they're showing is from a pretty early version. I wouldn't get too worked up about the visuals.
