So my cat has figured out that if she sticks her face or paws near the front of the Xbox One, something will happen which will greatly annoy me and hence greatly entertain her. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how you got around it. Would very much like to avoid big dumb glass cabinets.
Cat proof Xbox One, I miss buttons.
My dog does the same thing. I guess you can turn it sideways or something? Or get one of those lame entertainment centers so you can put the xbox behind a glass. Agreed, I would much prefer real buttons. It's an annoying case of form over function; I guess none of the designers at MS have pets or kids.
@coaxmetal: The cats never figure out exactly what they are doing but if they get a funny reaction from you they will learn from that.
If you want the cat to stop think its funny to shut off your xbox then pretend like nothing happend when she does and she will just move on and try to get your attention in some other way.
Edit: You can ofc. also get angry every time the cat does it and scare it away and it will learn not to mess with your xbox while you are around. It will spark the cats curiousness though so the cat will start rubbing that xbox whenever you are not around to see what the fuzz is about.
Cats are so damn amazing :)
Get rid of the cat.
I got a burlap sack, you bring the rope and we'll meet down at the river.
Cat really are dickish animals
Not sure why some people are hostile towards cats, other animals often are also complete dicks at times
Get rid of the Xbox.
also take a video of the cat doing this that sounds great. my cat has turned my monitor off with her nose but I dont think she figured out what she did.
And get a PS4 instead ;)

Put cayenne pepper around the room where you don't want her to get in.
Get something like a sprayer (used in cleaning), fill it with water and spray your cat everytime it does that. It will teach him to never come near your xbox in fear of getting sprayed.
Get rid of the Xbox.

@slowbird: At the time she figured this out, I was watching Die Hard on my xbox one. And everyone likes Die Hard.
Get a PC theyre all about buttons :)
Seriously i agree with the person about ignoring her when she does it though it will take some willpower on your part.
Easy enough to fix... Get a spray bottle, fill it with water, and wait. When the cat gets near the Xbox, spray the console vigorously. Eventually the Xbox will get the hint, and stop responding to the cat.

Or, he could try this...it is supposed to keep small animals away. Probably would not smell worse than an Xbox One.

It says it causes a "Fight or Flight response." I don't think the OP wants his cat to turn into Mike Tyson and start punching old ladies.
