Another epic year in gaming. I have go with Warcraft 2 just for the amount of time I spent with it even like decade after release. Even now I get back to it from time to time.
A lot of great games here. Mario 64 is my obvious answer, but Master of Orion, Civilization II, and Resident Evil aren't slouches either. Oddly enough, I don't have a ton of love for SMRPG. I just feel like it's the less hilarious, more Final Fantasy-ish predecessor to the amazing Mario RPGs that have come since. Ehh, I dunno. Maybe I'll give it another shot one of these days.
This was a tough decision however, I decided to go with Resident Evil. It was a toss up between that, Super Mario 64 and Crash Bandicoot, all of which were huge influences in my early game playing days!
Gotta go with Super Mario 64, the first time I defeated Bowser, I never felt so stoked with a game when I was a kid. Then when I realized that I had to get 112 more stars, I was like well shit (or at least something like that since I never was much of a potty mouth as a kid). Oh well, it was awesome to collect more stars anyways.
damn I should have scrolled down, I thought this was a poll of what game you were most likely playing around that time. So I chose Shadows of the Empire, because me and my friend would have been all about N64 at the time :/
Went with Resident Evil. Hard list to choose from considering how good the psx was. If it was on the list, Twisted Metal 2 would be my pick. I still pick it up once every so often. Turn the music audio off (not that its bad) adjust sound effects a bit, crank up some metal, get twisted wooooooo.
It's a tie between Elder Scrolls II Daggerfall and Super Mario RPG. Then again, I'd love to get a chance to play most of the games on this list I haven't played yet.
there are so many but one of the games that stick out is the original resident evil.
I was 10 and i fucking loved that game, yes my dad is awesome. i played the first 5 or so hours in black and white since he imported the game from the states and was a ntfs format and my tv could only play pal. so he went out to find a tv that could play both pal and ntfs
i have never played a game that have scared me yet sure there are a couple of jump scares but really nothing that freaked me out, but for some reason i really dont wanna play amnesia.

that was released in 1997
and 1998 on consoles
not trying to correct you since i might be wrong but im pretty sure. i think it was in januar in the states and later the rest of the world
