Crysis is coming to consoles

News just came out that the original Crysis will be coming to Xbox 360 and Playstation 3... next month.

Seem like a joke? There's a trailer on gametrailers.

This is completely unexpected and out of left field (for me anyways) Not sure how I feel about it

I hope its not a joke, never got a chance to play that game.

This reminds me that I need to get the original Crysis, Warhead was a ton of fun.

Not sure what to make of this. I have played Crysis 2 but was not impressed too much by it. Frankly I found it boring. Anyone here knows if EA are going to charge us $60?

wonder if they just ported everything to cryengine 3 or they went back and tweaked cryengine 2 enough to make a straight transition to console.

They are going to make it look like a Nintendo 64 game so current gen consoles can run it.

I'm much more impressed that they actually made it run on a console.

That looks spectacular on Xbox, I hope the PC version gets a similar revamp in the form of a patch or something.

Sweet. Missed out on this because I can't afford a decent gaming rig. Can't wait.

Probably ported it to CryEngine3 then, if it wasn't possible to run CryEngine2 on consoles.

To be fair this isn't Crysis at the same level of detail as the PC original, nor is it the same engine.

I would be interested in playing Crysis, but I'm certainly not paying full price for a game that originally came out, like, 4 years ago. But if it's at a reduced price, sure. I was planning to get Crysis 2 anyway.

I can't imagine them pricing it at 60$ unless they had to remake all the art assets for the new engine. They might slap on the Crysis 2 multiplayer to warrant a higher price, I never played it but I thought the Crysis 1 multiplayer maps were huge. No-no-console-huge.

@Praab_NZ: I highly doubt it after the Crysis 2 PC "debacle". People would naturally expect DX11 support which wouldn't happen out of the box - and the people with the means have already played the Real Lifesis mod.

I always thought the first Crysis was extremely meh. If it wasn't for the awesome graphics, I wouldn't have paid attention to the game. So... good for consoles, I guess.

I wonder if the expansion pack is included and if this will also have 3D support.
Also curious to know if this will have multiplayer.

That's great for people who couldn't play it on PC. I thought it was a really good game, in addition to being a really good looking one.

I think this is cool, I enjoyed the second but would have liked to have played the first. Apparently it's a download only game and it's coming out next month.

You people need to realize that Crysis 2 isn't even as graphics intensive as Crysis 1, they have to add lens flair and silly effects too make you think they are improving the graphics but really it's just smoke & mirrors. It's still next to impossible to make a PC that can run Crysis 1 on all maximum settings at 60+ FPS at a large resolution and it's been 4 years.

So, they refused to patch and fix the issues in the game on PC that people complained about for years, but will remaster it for consoles? 
I think I see where Crytek's loyalties lie...

Crysis 2 looks way better, graphically and gameplay wise. Just focus on a third.

Heh, the control scheme is terrible when using the 360 pad on PC.

Also, yes. I have played both Crysis and Warhead. I liked Warhead a lot more than Crysis, but read again my post. "I always thought" = opinion.

gotta love how technology devolves in this industry!

Neat. As a Far Cry 2 fan I've always been interested to see the open-worldliess of it. 
 
And honestly, it doesn't have to look any better than Far Cry 2 and I'll still be more than happy to look at it.
