As someone from the US that has been outcast to live in the detestable regions of Europe (no offense!) I share the pain of many UK, DE, FR and otherwise non-US citizens of having to stay up well past midnight to watch Livestreams and wait until the end of the work day to waste company money by not working and laughing at QuickLooks.

Well now is our time, Daylight Savings has happened for Europe but not for the US yet so we can enjoy videos one whole hour earlier.

Let this be our time.. even if the West will catch up eventually, exiling us back into the dark hours of the night to watch our favorite shows.

I watched my 7 hours of (american) football last night, and got to go to bed a whole hour earlier, it was a delight. I hate it when it goes the other way round though.

I still can't work out why the US has to change their clocks at a different time to everyone else. But it does mean I get to see whether or not I'll be wasting money on games I won't play an hour earlier for ~2 weeks.

I was a telecom installer a while ago; this involved installing and modifying phone systems for small businesses. So what happens when you have voice mail systems that were developed in the 90's, and government decides to change the date that daylight savings happens? I get to drive to each and every one of our customers and manually adjust their opening and closing hours because the system is old enough to not allow firmware updates for such an asinine thing as daylight savings.

DAYLIGHT SAVINGS SUCKS!

@chiablo: Sounds like you had to wake up... an hour early.. just to get all that work done!

I'm just glad it's not still bright outside at 9:30pm.

I hate day light savings time, it is outdated and pointless.

I propose all Daylight Savings fans be exiled to a single country, to become the only in the world that incorporates DST.

It will have a population of ten.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck daylight savings. I have to get used to subtracting an hour from the clock on my car's stereo display again because I forgot how to change it/am too lazy to look it up on the internet. And then I have to get used to not subtracting an hour when daylight savings fixes itself.

It's a terrible idea, really.

Daylight Savings should be the standard time all year round. Fuck you haters!

Fuck DST.

I'm glad we can all unite under the same umbrella of watching Quick Looks earlier. The GB solidarity is awe inspiring!

I like it, I just hate when it goes the other way.

I freaking hate daylight saving time. It sucks. I don't like it when I gain an hour and I like it even less when I lose it. It makes nights come sooner in summer right when I'm enjoying having some daylight. I hate mornings anyway so it doesn't matter.

Just keep it consistent. The daylight issue starts confusing me when my hours are all mixed up. I have a hard enough time with time perception as it is. Arizona's got the right idea just not doing it. Here in Utah we haven't caught on yet, apparently.

Time is so weird because there is logic to having everyone everywhere use Coordinated Universal Time or Universal Time Coordinated (UTC), yet there is logic for talking about local times and understanding with out conversion tables what a UTC times means for what sort of time of day it is locally.

I for one would like to get rid of Day Light Savings Time. It is pointless modification done for pointless reasons...it always was so it should be stopped. Also time zones in the United States are screwed up, because there are too many. There should only be three time zones in the contiguous US, the first two will be called Eastern Obama Time and Pacific Obama Time. To make sure people are not confused, and to be fair, all the land between the Rocky Mountains and the Mississippi River will be give back to Native American Tribes who will use Universal Casino Time.

Two things:

1) It's Daylight Saving Time. Not Savings.

2) You have it backwards. Daylight Saving Time begins in the spring and ends in the fall. DST is still going on in the US it ended in Europe. You're on Standard Time.

Enlightened, non-ignorant first sentence not playing into the boorish American stereotype at all.

Well, in all fairness he's only referring to the parts that are detestable. Like England! MWAHAHAHAHAHAAAA

DTS needs to be blasted into space and be only remembered as one of the low points of human society, alongside Nazism.

Seriously, all it does is fuck up our day rhythm twice a year. In fact among other things, moving the clock ahead each spring causes $434 million in losses to the U.S. economy.

Also Cows hate it. Nuff said.

This x1000.

If you never want to deal with DST again, I suggest Phoenix, Arizona. While the city itself is not my cup of tea, never worrying about DST was always pretty damn awesome!
