Ok, I don't know if anyone else that played through noticed, or even cared to notice, but there's a huge spoiler in the game that gives away one of the few secrets in the game. I've known this ever since I beat it.... back whenever that was ha ha (although I've beaten it again and again). If you take the first letter of each chapter name and connect them it tells you a spoiler. So, I'm gonna put the chapter names and you can see.

Alright, see? Nicole is dead. Hopefully you didn't read this if you were interested in playing this game before the next comes out. I didn't see a point in inserting the spoiler alert thing since I already said not to view the forum if you hadn't already beaten it. Well, even if you knew about this since most people that may check this post probably like Dead Space, this was a good waste of two minutes ha ha. Hopefully if you didn't notice this though originally, you may appreciate it? -shrugs-
P.S. And no, this is not for Giant Bomb points or whatever.... I don't post too much, and I actually don't care about the... achievements? See, I can't even tell you what they're called ha ha ha.
Interesting. I've been meaning to play that game again. The first time using only the plasma cutter to get the achievement. I need to give those other guns a shot at a higher difficulty.
@RWL_MU_OSU: Yes, you should. The guns are pretty unique. And dang, I didn't get that trophy (I have the PS3 version). I have every other one though ha. Oh well.
I came across this while reading some guides for my hardest difficulty run. Its a nice little easter egg for those who pay the utmost attention, but I think its a little superfluous considering the ending makes it clear that Nicole is dead... and hungry.
@Ashen: I could agree with you on that. It is a bit unnecessary to add it considering the fact she does die in the end, so even if you were paying attention to them it really doesn't matter.
Wow, that is incredible. I didn't think of looking at that. But it's awesome to see such a nice easter egg in the game. It doesn't punish you for finding it, and at the same time, it doesn't really reward you either.
Oh man, I had no idea. I've beaten Dead Space three times - awesome, awesome game - but I think I could have played it 13 times and never noticed it. Da-yum.
Lol i would never have figured that out on my own. And i hadn't heard this before, so thanks for posting. When Dead Space 2 comes out i'm definitly going to be looking out for something similar.
I love this game so much. Also, if you look carefully on the walls in some areas, some of the codes for the game are displayed in arrows. And if you care enough, you can decode all of the unitology writings on the wall if you use the cypher that's on the wall somewhere in the game.
I'm surprised that people are still discovering this, but "the more you know" I guess. I'll admit I was looking more into the game after I finished it though, so that point came up fairly quickly. I wonder if someone actually got that message while playing through for the first time.
@NTM: Are you fucking kidding me? That is awesome to the max times several bazillion! Dead Space was my 2008 GOTY and that's is just some extra slow burn rewarding shit right there.
Something always bugged me about the ending. During a couple of the missions you come to locked doors and Nichole unlocks them for you. If she is dead or a necromorph who unlocked the doors?

Isaac is clearly losing it during those parts of the game. I guess it wouldn't be outrageous to assume he hallucinated that the door was actually locked in the first place.
Nicole being dead was never a plot twist to me, it was just a matter of finding out what the f was wrong with her, since the person you were encountering named Nicole didn't seem quite...right.
Yeah, they do all kins of cool stuff. The fist level of Dead Space Extraction was awesome like that as well. Sill need to go through the game at least 1 more time for a couple of achievements. Finished it 3 times already, loved it.
That's so weird you bring this game up 'cus I got bored and popped this game in and just started my 3rd playthrough yesterday. What a weird co-inky-dink.

Yeah but thats like saying "A wizard did it". Sure it's an explanation but its kinda half assed.
@odintal: Mm, there's a reason, even if you can't think of it. Use your imagination. I felt that way too, but I don't let it bother me since I know there has to be an explanation. Unlike in a game like Halo where sergeant Johnson was supposed to die but was still in the second. That was half assed since they never explained how he survived. But it's different for this since there may or may not be an explanation. Like I said, use your imagination and see what you can figure out.
Where a few duders were throwing around ideas as to Nicoles status during the chapters she helps you - and her appearance at the end of the game
Obviously she is dead, there's no doubt about that -but the physical interaction with her totally throws a spin-ball at you during the game - unless there's some 'Fight Club' shit going on here then i'm totally at a loss- what are the chances of there being some kind of recap of nicoles status at the start - or at least somewhere in dead space 2?
