sure, but they have also worked very hard for a long time to get to where they are. Also Jeff knows first hand what it is like to have an asshole boss (see pre-giant bomb career)
I for one wouldn't call them lucky. I mean I'm sure there pay is not great and I doubt there benefits are that great either. Everyone putting on those suits 9-5 are pulling in some good money with benefits and retirements(Im assuming because anyone who puts on a suit probably has a decent job). So no I don't really think of them as lucky, I mean I get to play all the games they do and I have health insurance, life insurance, retirement + SSI, and i don't have to write about games and review them I can just enjoy them.
It doesn't seem like Brad appreciates his job . His lazy attitude , being unprepared for every quick look , frustration in his voice are signs that maybe it's a time to change an occupation?
I presume that is because Jeff sounds constantly frustrated ,depressed on quick looks / TNTs etc and Brad is just lazy and always unprepared .
To be fair alot of the games recently they quick look are meh. I would be bored too but when MK9 came out Brad and Jeff where stoked it really depends on the game at least they don't pretend. They keep it real and why does anyone really care about this?? it's pointless they can't always be excited the video game industry is lacking these days IMO.
Yeah and they do a good job, they still have bad days at work. They have all collectively created a great website and a great community which we can all enjoy :)
