Been using it on and off for a couple of days. Actually really loving it. The video pages are just a lot cleaner and nicer looking. I love the video overlay on top of the background image of the game... looks really nice.
Good job to the GB web doods. Going back to this old design makes me realize how much more I enjoy being on the new site.
I voted no. I do think it's a better looking website, very slick. But in the immortal words of Stewie Griffin "I don't like change". Just gotta get used to it.
Even though I've been present at nearly every occasion where the guys have shown off this feature, I had completely forgotten about it until approximately 10 minutes ago.
The changes are underwhelming, I think it's nice but the amount of time it's taken, it's doesn't seem like much.
Most of the work seems to have gone into the database / search / filters, stuff that was badly needed, but also something I didn't use much.
Quests and trivia are gone, disappointing but again something I didn't use much.
Achievements are gone, I think this is a major mistake; I know it's hip to be hating on achievements now but the data associated with them is really interesting, it's honestly one of the most interesting things on this site to me, seeing how many people play a certain game, looking at the changes in popularity of franchises and developers based on people playing the games over time, drilling down someones profile that is railing on a game in the forums to find out they've never played it, seeing what your friends are playing, etc. I know that it's been explained that it's due to crappy api from the platforms holders but other services like raptr and achievement hunters manage it so it can't be that bad.
User lists remain and look better, this is good, I like lists.
The forums seem about the same, image handling still seems real janky, video embedding isn't working for me, but they seem to be fixing forum issues rapidly now.
Videos are as good as they've ever been.
It's fine, and it will be nice once it's done and they can get on to improving it and more content creation.
It's ok. The video sticky thing is nice while reading comments but that's about it. I'm not loving the new look. It now looks like every other site that tries to look fancy. Why aren't the latest forums posts on the front page anymore?
@seek83: It looks like no one mentioned it to you, but you can change the background color at will on the beta site, just like on the live site. On the live site you have to navigate to the top of the page and hover over your user name, then click on either the black "A" on the white background or the black "A" on the white background.
The same option exists on the beta site, but without having to use the drop down menu that you have to use on the live site. It's just in the top-right corner.
I dig it. Really sleek, and the flow and different look of pages is great. Lots of bugs, but it's a beta, and I look forward to seeing how it develops.
@nintendork666: Things are getting a bit flaky here and there, which is only to be expected! Have you been able to use the beta site at all so far? Try hitting up the login page, logging in and then going straight to the main URL instead, what happens then?
I'm able to get to the log-in screen for the beta. Once I enter my info however, I reach this page:

I too get that. I have even cleared my cookies and still get it. I re-upped my membership three days after Thanksgiving. Why can't I has paying member enjoy this as well?
@Briggs713: You can change it to a black background by clicking on the Black box with the white "A" next to your username. The video above shows it off.
The general aesthetic seems to follow that of other recent redesigns (Gamespot, IGN, Gamesradar) but I'll be damned if that audio player for the podcasts isn't the most awesome thing ever
I like everything but the fact that everything is way too big. The new Games page is an especially big offender, I liked being able to see all the games coming out in one screen.
I really don't care for the font on the tabs when you go into a game. It looks like it's touching or something, and looks blurry to me. The font on the tabs at the top of the site looks good though.
Honestly, I love it. It's much more smooth and easier to navigate. I love the Review Feature you can do. Once I play some more new games I will definitely be utilizing that tool. Everything on there looks amazing. I can't wait to see how it will be once it's fully functional and out of beta. Awesome work guys!

This man speaks the truth. Just checked for myself and it's really blurry.
