I don't. Thinking about it, I don't know if I ever will get one from this generation.
Anyone else in the same boat?
Do you own a next gen console?
I own all 3 'this-gen' consoles, but I still can't afford the Wii+, it's 599 American Dollars D: (Oh, and Hi from the future!)
If you don't plan to pick up a current generation console, then you'll likely have to wait 3 years before the next gen arrives. Not a huge deal if you play PC games primarily or if you are satisfied with all the cheap previous gen stuff in the used sections of gamestore/online.
You guys are blowing the "yep" option way out of proportion. You know what he means by next-gen. No need to take everything literally.
i own a current generation console, i didn't even know the next generation of consoles were even out. i guess the ps3 10 year life cycle was a lie
No. I don't think anyone owns a next gen console either. Because any next gen console wouldn't be available yet. They're off in the next gen. Ya know, the next generation. Not this current generation. So, you could obtain some sort of current generation console, available now. But not a next gen console, it isn't the next gen yet. It's next, you see.
" I don't. Thinking about it, I don't know if I ever will get one from this generation.Anyone else in the same boat? "I'm not on your boat, but I have a friend that for some reason is up-to-date about every single next-gen gaming aspect, so we have some interesting talks, but anyways, he has no next gen console, he has a normal PC.
" No, I own one from this generation. :)I can think we can take off the next generation label when talking about consoles. "Exactly. It's been here for nearly 4 years solid.
360, Wii, gaming PC
No iphone yet - just a phat psp... but that was last gen anyways

Why are people still pointing out the OP's error in calling the current gen consoles, next gen consoles, over 30 posts into the thread. It has been pointed out, he realizes his mistake, but we all know what he meant, so why not answer the question rather than being a douche about a small mistake the OP made? One person needs to point out the mistake, not one milion.
Anyway, to answer the question, yes, I have a 360 and Wii.
The Xbox 360 came out in 2005. I think we can safely stop all this 'next gen' crap.
I own a 360 and a Wii, my 360 has seen use comparable to my PS2, whereas my Wii has been used even less than my spare Xbox or my Dreamcast. I do not own a PS3 but I intend to once second hand prices reach an acceptable low, likely when I either win the lottery, or when the next generation starts. As a student I no longer have much money so cannot afford each console.
Unless the PS3 comes out with a VGA cable so I don't have to buy an HDTV first (I only have a 15 inch portable, I play my Xbox 360 on my Pc monitor) in which case i'll probably buy one this year. But that's not gonna happen.
Edit: I know you can buy transcoders, but i'm not paying £50 for the ability to actually use a PS3, no thank you. I'd rather save and actually buy an HDTV as it gets me so many other benefits.
Joking aside, yes. I own a 360, Wii and PS3.
My favourite is easily the 360, hardware issues aside. I use it for pretty much everything and it has most of my favourite games this generations. The PS3 I picked up pretty cheap, I love Uncharted and I love inFamous, but most of it's other big exclusives haven't really done it for me. I mainly use it as a blu-ray player, which is fine.
The Wii literelly hasn't been on for months, I'd almost regret buying one but Mario Galaxy is one of my favourite games of all time now, Little Kings Story is fun too, and there's things like Smash Brothers and mario Kart, etc. I find it hard to recommend the console, and I find it very difficult to believe that any serious gamer could be content with the Wii alone. It definitely has its gems, but no where near enough.
" There was no mistake at all in what the OP said, the actual term for the current consoles IS 'next-gen'.They were only called 'next-gen' when we were using the PS2/Xbox/Gamecube. Just as that set of consoles was called 'next-gen' before that, and I don't remember the last time I heard someone call the Gamecube or PS2 'next-gen'. It shoudn't be applied to the 360/PS3 era anymore either, it's now used to refer to the PS4/720.It's VERY stupid but its the correct term."
