I picked up this gem today from an artist at Baltimore Comic Con and wondered if other people had gaming art to show off:

I don't own any actual game related art, only things I have are a bunch of maps I have gotten from games over the years framed on my wall. I have Oblivion, Morrowind, Borderlands, Rift, Red Dead Redemption, GTA IV, The Witcher.
Edit: And an angry birds poster framer, because someone bought it for me.

I wonder where all of it is. But I have a TON of Magic the Gathering artwork. My favorite piece being Mark Zug's Icy Manipulator. (And no, I'm not talking about prints, I'm talking about the original artwork. He HATED it because he did this really ornate painting and the people at Wizards of the Coast told him that it was nice, but they wanted the hand and orb, that's it.)

Back in 2004 I was the owner of one of the guildwars's first fansites. I got to meet the dev team in the first community day and this was a present they gave me. It was really nice of them! My favorite art peice :)

I also have this piece of art, though I haven't framed it yet. I can't wait! Sam Fisher!

Also, I suck at formatting heh.

@ztiworoh: Awesome picture!

Hmm... I have a Fox McCloud bobblehead from preordering Star Fox Adventures, if that counts...

Bunch of art books for Final Fantasy, Persona, and Street Fighter primarily.

I've got a Brutal Legend artwork poster signed by Tim Schafer, and a Dead Space one signed by the whole crew.

#8 Posted by Ley_Lines (250 posts) -

not counting artbooks, I have (and not by choice) a ceramic art plate of lightning from final fantasy xiii coming eventually. I earned it from square enix's reward program.

Indeed I do good sir and/or madam. Got this Pride Demon Lithograph from the Bioware store for around $10 during some clearance sale. Only 350 of them ever made!

My question - where are the best places to buy this stuff?

I live in Ireland, so would prefer online shops either in Europe or ones that send overseas.

#12 Posted by valrog (3671 posts) -

Just some posters I got in magazines. Not sure if that counts.

#13 Posted by pornstorestiffi (4908 posts) -

Not a single piece of video game art in my house.

#14 Posted by Branthog (7340 posts) -

Nope. And no art of any kind. In fact, I don't even have pictures on my walls. I don't see the point in it. It just makes the place look cluttered. I like my house looking clean and empty and open.

If artbooks included in CE's counts then yes.

Depends. Bioware store has some posters for their franchises other than that I don't really know.

There's some cool stuff in this thread. The closest I have to anything like this is the Halo 3 concept art book.

I've gotten a few free cheap posters with games before, but besides that, no. Almost got a Dead Space poster once, but than used that money on a game instead.

Do you happen to have the link to the whole picture by any chance? I tried looking for it but even on Zug's official website only the hand with the orb is visible.

Looking at his artwork now I didn't even realize that many of my favourite MTG illustrations are his doing ^_^

Since getting a xbox and PS3 2 years ago I've slowly changed my spending habits so instead of upgrading my pc every couple of months I'm getting collectibles or art.

My most prized statue to date is my Red Heavy from Gaming heads. I also have figures from bioshock, god of war , Assassins creed , Dead space 2, Killzone 3 and a few others. Will post pictures when I get back from work.

Have got poster artwork from fallout 3/new Vegas, uncharted 2, god of war3 and spore. I got sucked into getting 'the art of uncharted 2' from ballistic publishing which is
wicked :)

So the short answer to your question is yes :p

The second picture could easy pass also as a Prototype poster. The red shapes around Sam Fisher seems like the infection in Prototype.

The only game kind of game poster I'd consider putting up on my walls would be a Grim Fandango one.

Does concept art/art books that you get with a limited edition copy of a game count?  If so, then yeah that for Gears of War 2.  I had a small Ken Masters statue but it got knocked over and broken.  Soon I'll have a Marcus Fenix statue that comes with the epic edition of GOW3, so that'll count I guess.

Gaming related art is scattered through my collection, recently I dug up and took some pictures of my old Magic the Gathering cards for friends. Those are cards from the Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited releases of the game, signed at the 96 or 97 gen-con I can't remember. Enjoy!

So Yeh.....this is my idoicy in figure form :P I only finished making the cabinet recently so I only have the one Red Heavy BUT I FUCKIN LOVE HIM XD. Its all about LEDs in statues/figures I just wish my Helghast Helmet had orange LED eyes.

p.s I know the wallpaper is AWFUL but we only rent the place and dont see the point of redorating a whole house that we dont own so we put up with the granny paper :P

yeah, i have a few things that i have made.

i made an campanioncube from portal out of stone. the only problem is that it's kind of messed up and is not equal on sides. i also have minecraft guy that i made by accident. in sculpturing class(same class that i made the cube) we had a naked guy there to make out of clay. i didn't know what to put for his junk, so i put a cube there. i thought i might as well keep going with the cube thing. i bought minecraft and then looked and thought man this  character looks a lot like my sculpture.

as you can see it's broken two places and not done on the bottom.
minecraft guy, he was just done so he is dirty.

Damn I wish I had access to my camera at this point, I'll promise to post pic's tomorrow. And I was just thinking about this! I can't imagine any other type of art piece that would mean more to me than ones that are video game related.

I got a Starfox Survival kit from buying it at Circuit City when the game was released. This image isn't mine, but it's the same thing.

That's Fox Fuel Jones Soda and toilet paper there, and the toilet paper has game hints and tips on the individual sheets.

Here I am holding the toilet paper up close, so you can see.

As far as gaming related art, I'm framing the Whiskey Media shirts.

@Bloviator: That is so weird! I never understood those preorder bonuses. Instead, I went with the bobblehead from Target. Not sure I'd want to keep a roll of toilet paper.

Well, I have:

  • Art Books for Street Fighter, Darkstalkers, and Shigenori Soejima (Persona 3/Persona 4 character artist).
  • A wall-hanging featuring Link's designs from Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess and Phantom Hourglass
  • Statuettes and figures of numerous characters

#34 Posted by MormonWarrior (2528 posts) -

I have that I Am 8-Bit book, and various posters from stuff like Nintendo Power.

#35 Posted by TeflonBilly (4713 posts) -

I made this Pong picture myself and framed it

I ended up putting it on the opposite wall of the Space Invaders int this one

#36 Posted by Tennmuerti (7949 posts) -
@crusader8463: I prefer the real art under that picture.
#37 Posted by Vexxan (4612 posts) -

I have a World of Warcraft painting currently residing in my parents' house.

This is about as close to video game art I can recall owning at this time. An old ass poster from an ancient video game magazine. Something I treasure for it being from my favorite game of all time, but it's in pretty terrible condition after all these years and isn't really worth anything monetarily.
#39 Posted by SamSharp505 (210 posts) -

Nah, I got crap loads of posters I gathered from games just behind my computer, though.
Massive red dead one, massive battlefield 3 one, red dead map, gta iv map, oblivion map, morrowind map, a post card of an ewok...and a calvin and hobbes repainted as me and my old cat :D It's not game related, just it's in the middle of it all. :)

I have two Final Fantasy X posters.

I'll have to play more than 1/3 of that game someday, it seemed okay.
