...before moving onto a new title? It's a curious subject, for sure.

#2 Posted by SadPatrol (494 posts) -

I play one to completion most the time. Unless it's Christmas or something.

#3 Posted by AhmadMetallic (18955 posts) -

I can't enjoy myself unless i have at least 6 titles pending in Steam
I can't enjoy playing a game for more than 30 minutes, which is why 30 minz of 6 different games a day, fills up my gaming time

There are only a few games that are so good and capturing that i play them exclusively from beginning to end, the last one being AC: Brotherhood

Right now i'm playing The Witcher, Crysis, Crysis 2, Dead Space 2, Bioshock, Alice and Oblivion

#4 Posted by Video_Game_King (34615 posts) -

Kind of both; I'm playing a ton of games, but I'm mostly focusing on one or two games, Half-Life being my most devoted project.

#5 Posted by Vexxan (4598 posts) -

A bit of both, I usually play one XBLA title and one "normal" game at a time.

I never play multiple games at a time. I play either from beginning to end without touching another game, or until I get extremely bored and don't play it again for a few months (which usually means I forget important stuff and have to start over when I finally feel like playing again.)

#7 Posted by Arbie (1449 posts) -

I wouldn't feel I'd be giving the story of a game a fair turn if I didn't dedicate my gaming time to that game, and that game alone! I'm a game monogamist!

But I do fool around on MP modes of other games whilst completing some games... it doesn't mean anything!
#8 Posted by niamahai (1402 posts) -

narrative heavy games on the weekends (Witcher 2 etc)

fun games on the weekdays (Infamous2, FPS etc)

#9 Posted by Grumbel (910 posts) -

I never play multiple games in parallel, I do however give everything I buy a quick 10-30min play test before it goes to the "unfinished stuff" heap and I go back to whatever game I was playing before that.

#10 Posted by sungahymn (981 posts) -

I have a focus, but I have too much ground to cover so that luxury is, well, a luxury.

#11 Posted by crusader8463 (14319 posts) -

On my consoles I only ever have one going at a time. On my PC I tend to have several going at once.

#12 Posted by Cloudenvy (5890 posts) -

One to completion!

I'm not that good handling multiple games at a time, heh!

#13 Posted by CaptainTightPants (2834 posts) -

Multiple, and a lot of the time not to completion.

#14 Edited by SirOptimusPrime (1855 posts) -

Depends.

Right now I'm playing three fighting games semi-seriously, but that's fighting games. Generally speaking I only play one-two games at a time unless I'm super hype about 'em.

Y'know, I get what you mean, but I have to say; I lol'd.
#15 Posted by Guided_By_Tigers (8060 posts) -

Usually one at a time, currently FFXIII....next will be Bulletstorm.

#16 Posted by supaman900s (185 posts) -

I usually stick to a rotation of one game im playing for the single player and another multiplayer focused game for online play...

#17 Posted by SethPhotopoulos (4852 posts) -

Depends on how many "new" games I get.

Online
#18 Posted by one_2nd (2359 posts) -

I am currently playing Fallout 3, Oblivion, Saints Row 2, Alan Wake, NHL 11 (idk if you'd count this, but I do play it almost daily), and Far Cry 2 soon enough. So yes.

#19 Posted by Kjellm87 (1728 posts) -

I play one at time, I like to finish my games and have more than one game going on is distracting.

#20 Posted by Bloodgraiv3 (2712 posts) -

I'll play each game in bursts, makes each one last longer and gives me more variety, but if it's a game i'm really into, I'll play all of it in one or two sittings.

One game for a console, one game for the pc and one game for the handhelds at a time, so I am never running more than three at a time. Although, for some reason my currently playing list is longer than three.  Hmm.

#23 Posted by DonChipotle (2657 posts) -

I try to just have one, but at the moment I have both Madness Returns and Shadows of the Damned. I'll probably finish Shadows first because it is a shorter game.

#24 Posted by Vrikk (837 posts) -

I can understand playing one game to completion -- you like to devote time. However, if you wait too long then you forget everything you've done.

#25 Posted by evildeadron (820 posts) -

usually multiple games at any one time, unless i'm doing a review and rushing to meet a deadline or embargo lifting etc...

#26 Posted by Cold_Wolven (2167 posts) -

I try to play one at a time till I beat it or get bored with it, I'd rather not be distracted.

#27 Posted by Irvandus (2643 posts) -

I'm currently playing MGS4 (First Time), Uncharted 2 (First Time), Trenched, and a little TF2 all at the same time. Oh and WoW.@Bloodgraiv3 said:

Like this dude.

ditto. I can occasionally pick up and play non-story games as well, (e.g. Fifa, Forza etc), but I have to finish a story game to completion. If I change games part way through, then all is lost (I will have to start Fallout: New Vegas again despite having put in 20+ hours)

#29 Posted by Rolyatkcinmai (2661 posts) -

I'll do one on each system, currently playing Dungeon Siege 3 on PC, mopping up trophies in Infamous 2 on PS3, Trenched on X360, and some Ghost Recon on 3DS.

#30 Posted by BeachThunder (11265 posts) -

I try not to play more than one game per genre at a time.

#31 Posted by SlasherMan (1725 posts) -

I try my best to only focus on one game at a time, but that doesn't always work out so great.

#32 Posted by Redbullet685 (5980 posts) -

Seeing as right now I'm playing through Portal 2, Shadows of the Damned, and F.3.A.R, I'd say that I play through multiple games at a time.

#33 Edited by Mahonay (823 posts) -

I'm constantly switching between games. It's rare that I just steam through a game with out playing anything else here and there. Mass Effect 2 is the only game recently I can recall doing that with. All of my games are constantly getting love.

#34 Posted by MackGyver (508 posts) -

Depends on how much I like the game. If I'm really into it, I'll play it multiple times. Otherwise, it's just a buy-play-forget game.

#35 Posted by funk_oddysey (52 posts) -

atm im playing quite a few games on both portables and consoles, but mainly focus on one (Golden Sun: Dark Dawn), while slowly playing the others in-between.
#36 Posted by Turambar (6485 posts) -

I'll only play one game at a time, though I might not always finish that one game, and might go back to it later.  Example: I spent about 20 hours playing Super Robot Wars Alpha 3.  I put it on hold and moved onto Super Robot Wars Z.  I intend to go back to @3 after Z is over(which is a good 60 hours unto itself).  Only one game at a time, but not necessarily to completion.

Sadly, this. I play many and finish few.

#38 Posted by Chango (482 posts) -

I'm pretty ocd about these things, I can only really play one at a time. The same goes for books as well.
