I don't have many 3DS games, but I find I never use it. In fact, I honestly forgot it has it.
Yeah. Though the only game with great 3d support I own is 3D Land, and that just happens to be the game that is unquestionably better with 3D on. Especially if you press the down button to toggle it to stretch INTO the screen. But the Fire Emblem demo cutscenes looked great in 3D. When I bought this glorious device I didn't think I would ever use the 3D. Thanks for proving me wrong, Nintendo. 3D.
Nope. It doesn't make me feel ill or anything, I just don't really care for the effect. Sometimes I'll be like, "I wonder what this looks like with the 3D on...". Then I'll switch it on and realize it looks the same, just shittier. So I turn it back off.
I hear Super Mario 3D Land uses the effect better, so maybe I'll try it out more when I get around to that game.
I leave the 3D cracked all the way up for just about everything. I quite like it. I think it makes things look better and can be quite helpful in Pushmo.
I wonder why some people say they can't see the 3D. Do they only have one eye? I suppose they couldn't see 3D in real life either and probably walk into a lot of things. That must stink.
use it all the time, doesn't have any ill effects except occasional motion sickness on moving bus and a bit of annoyance when it shifts out of alignment (not that often), dig the effect.
it's definitely not a replacement for good games but thankfully 3DS has a solid amount of those too.

I’m kind of blown away by how few people use it. The only 3DS games I’ve played are Ocarina of Time, Pushmo, Mario Kart, and NSMB2, and of those, the only time I’ve had trouble with the 3D effect was Ocarina of Time. Maybe other games didn’t implement it well?
I like using it during the cutscenes in Fire Emblem because it makes them look cool.
I haven't really played any games that take advantage of the 3D effect yet though. I'll probably try it out when I get around to playing Super Mario 3D Land.

I'm playing Tales of the Abyss at the moment and it looks utterly abysmal with the 3D on, it's like I've rubbed Vaseline on my eyeballs. I left it on most of the time while playing Super Mario 3D Land, mainly because I'd heard so much about how great the effect is for that game, and honestly I was left underwhelmed. It wasn't awful or anything and it was certainly just as playable as if I'd turned it off but it didn't really add anything, and that's crucial when you're selling a console on it.
The only game I've ever really enjoyed using the 3D on is Pullblox (Pushmo to most of you lot), it feels like the game was designed with "let's make a puzzle game that works better with the 3D effect" rather than stuff like Mario which is more like "let's make another Mario game and I guess it should look good with the 3D effect".
Ultimately it's all fairly minor. The 3DS is still a fantastic console, I just wish they hadn't named it after a near-pointless gimmick.
Very rarely! I generally flip it on once or twice during a game to see how it looks, but I can't really have it on while playing. The one case where it actually was beneficial was during Paper Mario: Sticker Star, but other than that I move my head/hands too much to keep the 3D reliably working. Oh well. Was just a gimmick, anyways.
