Poll Do you want another WWII shooter? (157 votes)

I'd love it 66%
I'd hate it 4%
I'm set with the what we have 8%
I don't care 17%
I have no opinions because I'm boring but show me the results 6%

I think it'd be cool to see a WWII shooter in the style of the first couple of Call of Duty's on next gen hardware. I know they flooded the market but it has been long enough I'd be cool with one big WWII series being around.

Sure, but I certainly don't ever want them to come back like they were. They're pretty played out at this point.

Only if someone was doing a particularly different take on it, like War Thunder, which I've been enjoying. As for basic WWII FPS stuff, I think we probably have enough of those already.

It's time for WW2 shooters again.

Randy Pitchford should make a new Brothers In Arms.

I would love to see what a WWII shooter would look like with Frostbite 3

We need to move on as a gaming society. How about WW1?

Okay but only if it's a super-simmy version of WW1. Gotta deal with trench foot and all that.

The Darkness has a really dark part in it that takes place in WW1.

The Darkness? Really? Huh. I should go back and finish that game.

The setting is and always has been completely uninteresting to me, so no.

I'd want one where you have campaigns for every side. America, Canada, British, German's, Polish, French, Japanese, Italian.. it will never happen though because of political correctness and it's censorship.

I still like WWII as a setting, but I certainly don't need another conventional FPS trudge through the same old scenarios (Normandy, Battle of the Bulge, Nijmegen Bridge, etc.). However, I welcome any game that can deliver a fresh experience in that era.

Enemy Front, shown here in this Polygon preview, seems like a pretty cool one of these.

Maybe it's just nostalgia talking, but I would really love another WWII era Battlefield.

I'm on board for a Vietnam war shooter. So many great and fucked up stories waiting to be told.

I would've liked to see how that Inglorious Basterds looking shooter from Gearbox (I think) would've turned out.

D-Day is a Hoth Level, Triple H's Hair sort of benchmark for technology. So I won't feel like I really know what the XBone and PS4 are capable of until I'm storming them beaches.

I don't know, I might like to see another (good) Medal of Honor or Brothers In Arms game. Not really into military shooters right now, but seeing a new WWII game in those two series would probably get my nostalgia going and I'd probably play them.

I'd really like to see the ideas seen in the beginning of Bad Company 2 to be expanded on. Taking on the role of average joes or even famous soldiers like Joe Basilone or Eugene Sledge as they fight through Guadalcanal and Okinawa. Basically, give me something really compelling in the Pacific theatre.

"Another generic WWII Shooter" ...ehh, I'm good.

"DAT WOLFENSTIEN" ...yea, I'll play it. Again!

This is actually how I feel about it. Call me a sucker, but I'd be hard pressed to NOT play the next installment of WOLF3D.

I was going to say "I find shooters boring," but then I remembered that I've spent a fair amount of time playing a World War-themed shooter called War Thunder recently. The big difference is... you're pilotting a plane, instead of trudging along on the ground.

There are still new and different avenues of WWII to be found, it is up to the developers to find and explore them.

I liked Call of Duty: World at War, the last Wolfenstein, and Medal of Honour Frontline, other than that I'm good. But if anyone knows how I can play Hidden and Dangerous 2 on the PC I'd love to find out, I played a demo and it was really interesting, never found the full game

I would love for the war shooter genre to go back to its WWII roots. The Modern Warfare angle has gotten a bit too stale for me. I really miss the days of the original Medal of Honor games (1, Underground, Frontline, Allied Assault) and the very first Call of Duty. Remember the first time you played through the Russian campaign?
