Do you want Giant Bomb to have emoticons?

I don't know if anyone has brought this up before, or recently... but should Giant Bomb have emoticons? I miss having quaint little smileys every now & again.

I'd like to see Giant Bomb introduce emoticons of game controller buttons. If nothing else, it would make for some pretty snazzy editing options when writing up those guides and Wikis. Come to think of it, that's probably the main reason we don't have smileys. If we did, they'd probably end up all over the Wiki pages.

I think emotes of the staffers would be awesome.  I want a small Jeff giving a thumbs up.

No, and this is not going to happen...the people that make these sorts of decisions are thankfully about as anti-emoticon as it gets. Oh, and no signatures either.

Nah, I think they are really really really annoying. Even, in instant messagers.

I like it the way it is. The forums here have a nice clean look. I especially like the no-sigs policy. Sigs take up too much space and just make me scroll more when moving through the thread. Emoticons look silly in forums, but I do like the idea of having controller button icons for use in the wiki. That could be useful.

While I'm not really a fan of emoticons, I wouldn't totally be opposed to emoticons based on the Bomb in the Giant Bomb logo. If anything, that logo makes this the perfect site to have some really cool emoticons. But it isn't going to happen.

I would be fine with emoticons, but then again I would be fine with being able to post more than twice in a row on someone's wall and having working quotes, which is apparently also out of the question.

I wouldn't mind emoticons related to Giant Bomb that were unique, but I'd find it kind of annoying to see the typical emoticons sprouting all over the forums.

I would like to see emiticons, nothing special, but as long as they look good, some look pretty lame...

I'm not so into having emoticons, I say we should keep things simple, it looks better and I've seen before when emoticons have been introduced to sites and some people have gone a bit crazy with them.

You know nothing is stopping anyone from just using ":)" or ":D" or whatever they feel like.

I'm definitely for no sigs, I think emoticons of controller buttons, particularly the PS face buttons, would be cool.

emoties and sigs are annoying, so are colourful backgrounds and layouts. this site is polished and soaked in the gaming spirit without all the distracting decorations.. gotta love it!

I find emoticons help me to express myself in text if used properly. A winking face is the difference between an incredibly insulting statement and a light-hearted joke. So yeah, I'd like to see Giant Bomb get some.

Maybe if they input some emoticons with the Giant Bomb flavour. I want a dancing Luchadeer or something alike

For me to accept emoticons here, they'd have to be modeled after out bomb mascot.  Generic smileys won't cut it.  Signatures... we've all got profiles where we can express ourselves.  Filling up the forums with large walls of sig text and dumb .gif images would suck.

Emoticons are for retards who don't know how to use words properly. It also means you've got near enough a generation of people who can't take a joke unless it has a winking smiley face after it to signal them that what was said was light hearted.

Emoticons and signature pics are evil and ruin forums.

How about everybody is only allowed to use 1 emoticon? Then nobody would use them. But theyd be given the chance.
