seriously....why would any publisher pick this up after it was rightfully dropped? i cannot see any appeal in it whatsoever. Jack Black is annoying, not funny. the story looks lame, the graphics look even more lame, and i know it won't be funny due to Jack Black being involved.
so am I the only one who thinks this is going to be embarrassing?
Does Anyone Care About Brutal Legend?
Tim Schafer is my favorite game designer. His last game, Psychonauts, was the best written game of the last generation.
So yeah. I'm pretty stoked.
I'm really unsure about this because I really can't stand Jack Black in anything other than High Fidelity and metal culture really grinds my gears but at the same time, it's nice to see a game which is trying to be something interesting and niche so I don't know if I want it do do well or not.
Yikes, I guess I'm the only one who felt that way.
I think it's just my undying hatred for Jack Black.
I will admit that this game wouldn't be half as interesting to me if not for Schafer's involvement/leadership. I'm not a huge Jack Black fan, the whole metal-chic thing is kinda played to me and the RTS-aspects kinda gives me pause.
But I would follow that man into gaming Hell.
This game looks great, I'm super excited about it. And JB is definitely not some prodigal actor or anything like ... [more]
I'm pretty excited. I quite enjoy Tim Schaffer, Jack Black and rock music. The fact that they have so many rock and roll legends involved in the game makes it even more incredible.
Conceptually Brutal Legend is a game from my nightmares.
I can't think of anything worse than a game about heavy metal. Truly I can't.

I'm looking forward to ROCKTOBER myself :) My birthday is around the time the game releases so I'll be picking up a copy :)

I just havent really looked into it. I dont have that much of an interest in rock and roll, dont really like Jack Black (Even though this is probably the most appropriate role hes ever had), and wasnt too thrilled with Full Throttle's story. I'll try to look into it when the game comes out.
Okay, what is it with Schafer? Why do all u geeks get boners over him?
Play Grim Fandango and than we will talk.

one of the worst attempt of trollin i`ve seen lately [more]
I think it looks retarded, so I just wanted to know what you guys think. How is that trolling?
I'm super excited about Brutal Legend not because of Tim Schafer, but because of how the game looks. It seems amazing to me, and the way previewers describe the game it looks like it has a good chance of being the GOTY. The visual theme looks great to me, putting bayonettes on tree tops? Crazy weather effects? It reminds me of Mario games (when they were good) in visual creatitivity. I've always considered Tim Schafer to be great at humor and writing, but as solid as his adventure games were, other than the first Maniac Mansion, I don't conisder them great games, but I don't think too much of the genre as a whole. Psychonauts was a solid platformer, but the high points were all in the writing and comedy. Brutal Legend looks like the first chance to combine his humor with truly standout gameplay.

My short response would be "dude, its Tim Schafer".
This is one of the games Im most likely going to buy this year. I liked psychonauts, and even though Im not the biggest fan of Jack Black, people have saids it is funny (like.. I dunno, the bombcast). From what Ive seen I havent been so impressed by the graphics and gameplay, but from what Ive HEARD, It sounds awesome. And graphics is not so big a deal if the game is entertaining.
