When it first was launched I thought, this will fail and I went and bought a 360. The 360 broke and I got it fixed, then that one broke and I got it fixed, then the third was starting to show signs of dying so I sold it and bought a PS3 and I have never looked back, I`m 100% glad I bought it.
I´m happy with my PS3, i even use it more than i use my 360 now. But i have had the 360 since launch in 2005, so it could just be that the PS3 is newer to me, think i have had it in a year or so.
But just in general i just like the system better. Like the UI seems more clean to me, i really don´t like NXE at all. I actually used to hate on PS3 and Sony in general, and i can´t explain why i needed to do that. But its funny how things work out in the end.

Lol, the same happened to me with the xbox, the third one is dead now. Ps3 is awesome and if you checked my other forum on the 360 you would be filled in.
It more than satisfies me in every way. Excellent content, excellent exclusives, all the multiplats, constantly being upgraded, blu-ray player, Playstation Store, free online, blah blah.
My PS3 library will hit 50 titles soon. I've had the thing 16 months.
Oh, did I mention you barely know it's turned on. So quiet and well built.

Well I don't own a PS3 but I am hungry, I think I'm going to get something to eat. I'm pretty sure it would satisfy me to a certain extent if I had one.
The PS3 is the best system, technically. It just doesn't have enough exclusive games and franchises supporting it.
Seems to me like it has a pretty good list of exclusives. And just on top of my head...

Those are just a few, there are a lot more. But when you on top of that add all the multiplatform games there are, you can´t possibly say there is a lack of games (know you didn't say that)
@pornstorestiffi: True true. In PS3's favour, I definitely agree that it is the more reliable system. Way more functionality with multimedia. It also has a browser. Etc. I'm a new PS3 owner. You got me to thinking: which system has more exclusives? I actually think they have about the same. Maybe 360 edges a 'bit' ahead. I wonder why 360 sells better? I don't think it's quality. I think it's more marketing and price-range. That said, as blu-ray starts to gain more of a foothold, maybe people will start seeing the PS3 as a good gaming system, as well as a blu-ray player.
Something just occured to me: Does Sony own blu-ray? Or have a major stake in it? If this is true, considering that blu-ray will probably be the next big storage medium, what is Microsoft going to do for their next system? I don't think they can continue to use the small storage-space of the DVD, can they?
If you don't have another console to compare to it at your home that is current gen. Sure I wish it had cross voice chat but thats nothing major. Also a lot of the 360 exclusives don't really thrill me, i do plan on getting a 360 eventually for the few titles i do want to play.

I believe Sony owns Blu-Ray in conjunction with companies. The PS3 was designed around winning the Blu-Ray vs. HD-DVD war and well it did its job, even if the PS3 is overall a loss for them winning the war is what they cared more about. It is the future until highspeed connections can deliver 30gigs of data within an hour at a fair rate so a traditional family can get a new game.
I've been a ps3 owner since two months after launch and the ps3 doesn't satisfy my gaming needs. I now game more on the pc instead for multiplatform games because of the graphics which are inferior for most ps3 multiplatforms. I didn't enjoy metal gear solid 4 because of too many cutscenes over gameplay. Also I don't care about LBP, resistance 2, or uncharted. I liked killzone 2 btw and it's the only game I liked on the ps3 and FFXIII is going to be multiplatform. So no, it didn't satisfy me because i'm not the brand loyalist type.

Yeah it is more reliable system, granted i have only had my PS3 for a year, but i have had no problems with it. On the other hand my launch 360 has died two times. And i guess you could say two times isn't that many compared to what other people have experienced, but you know what for me two times is two times too many, there is no way you can justify faulty hardware. And i have made a decision, that if it dies another time, i wont buy a new one.
But i think your pretty much spot on, that the 360 sells more games cause of price range, and Microsoft is really good as firing some money into ads and commercial promotion and so on. Plus the 360 it is a super cheap system now.
You mention a interesting thing, cause it could be fun to see a complete list of exclusives vs exclusives, just to see what platform actually do have most.
But for me now, i find that the PS3 have more interesting exclusives, at least for me it does. I actually don´t have that many exclusives i like on my 360 any more, and if i compare how many exclusives i have played in the last year i have had more i liked on my PS3 than on my 360. So i guess its a matter of personal preference also.
Regarding the blu-ray thing i don´t know if Sony owns the brand, but they did design the medium.
