Downloading Xbox Fall update preview... anyone else?

It's on download now, 30 min. remaining.  Anyone else sign up to receive the update via microsoft connect earlier last week?

I wanted to but didn't sadly.

How the heck does everyone get in on these things and I get left out of the loop? Not fair I say. Not fair!

It was on Major Nelson's blog last week.  If its any consolation, the download interrupted my NCAA dynasty.  

I got in, but I don't plan on using my 360 till tomorrow.

As of right now, I have no email regarding any acceptance toward the new dashboard update. I figure since I'm on a silver account, which is silly that they base priority to Gold users. I guarantee someone who makes a new Xbox Live account (with a free month of Gold), would have a better chance than me, who had Xbox Live Gold for over a year prior, also accumulating over fifty-thousand gamerpoints. Obviously gamerscore does not equal acceptance, but it should show I use my Xbox more than time-to-time.

Oh well, what the hell can ya' do? I wasn't partciually interested in the update, but I would have preferred to getting used to it now than in a few weeks. Would like to see your impressions on it, by the way.

First look:  Avatar marketplace takes awhile to initially load all the items, no load times after that.

By the way, I very much doubt you have a 54mb connection. That would mean you can dl a 700 meg file in about 1 minute. Screw pics or it didn't happen for the dashboard, I want to see a speedtest.net test result!

Speedtests lie, your actual speed can be easily found on a torrent mine maxes at about 1.5MegaBytes Per second.

According to that speed test you have an 84mbps connection......what the hell? That translates to over 10MB/s! Hard to believe, but that is amazing. Where do you live?

I like how they now show on your gamercard how long you've been an XBL subscriber.

Does anyone have any information if Avatar awards are on the update?

I got in the preview program first wave, guess I'll start downloading the update now.  Not at all excited for it personally.  Buying stuff for avatars, Netflix (which I don't use), rating games...  Total bleh.

30 mins? sounds like a big update.

Blaaaaah... I would have tried to get in this but go figure, red ringed 360.

Only took me 6 minutes to update.  Servers were probably just super loaded when he was downloading the update.

Only thing that has me happy about it so far is the dashboard / guide is definitely faster than it was.  No freezes when accessing recently played with list or checking games in the marketplace.

I applied for it, but maybe I will get it at some point.

Just recieved another update to the beta, not sure what it could be.  Possibly just to iron out some of the kinks..  although more items in the avatar marketplace would be nice.

This is a useless update for me since I don't have a Netflix account. What else is there besides the Avatar Marketplace for me? Nothing.

I'll gladly wait for Facebook, Last.fm and Twitter integration this fall.
