Apparently this occurred during the big recent storm in Central America. (CNN photo by the way)
Dude!, What the fuck?
Well the aliens are hiding. They have contacted Obama and he has decided to side with them. He knows there coming, but decides to keep it a secret.
" Well the aliens are hiding. They have contacted Obama and he has decided to side with them. He knows there coming, but decides to keep it a secret. "True dat and that picture looks Photoshopped, like two images were merged.
Totally had to see what the fuck was going on in here...
But yeah, saw that sinkhole pic before. Sinkhole opened up in Guatemala city after heavy rains or some such thing...
I'd like to think aliens (or better yet, sandworms from the planet Arrakis!) but sometimes sinkholes are as good as it gets.
" @sodiumCyclops: Still very skeptical. Otherwise that city is sitting on top of a giant cave. And the hole is perfectly circlular all the way down. "Yeah I still think it's fake.
This is pretty recent news so maybe CNN got some shopped photos?
Not fake, there are many other images of the same thing from different angles (and I believe there's video footage too)

" uh oh mole men are trying to sink cities "Its about time they took a political stand!
Damn dude that is messed up. Wonder what it would be like to fall down a giant sinkhole.
Or even see that three story building just slide into the ground.
Locust!!!!
*bulge neck vein*
THEY'RE USING A GIANT WORM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
* aneurism*
My coffee warned me about this. Seriously though, I saw an Alien silhouette in my coffee along with "S".
dammit, I've already missed the bus on both the gears joke and the sparta joke. bad times.
on the other hand, isn't it odd how real images can feel shopped and shopped images can feel so real? we had an assignment recently of putting a cgi image into a still or video. someone had been so cunning that people pointed out loads of real objects as the fake before getting near the real fake.

"Yeah but the problem is that this looks SUPER fake. I really wanna know if the picture is real. I do know the story is real, but the picture? come on!
New York Times is blogging this; they source the Guatemalan govs flicker account (near the bottom for pic). I was already pretty sure this was legit due to the '07 sinkhole that some have shown here but think this is the definitive proof that some asked for.
Edit: If I lived anywhere near that thing I'd be packing up shop and legging it.
