Created them as links to save peoples minds.

And ontopic. MOTHER************************** *********** ************** ************ ******** FLARNERS!!!

Shame we have to go through this again. That Huff post article is still unchanged from the last time.

Wow okay, check out the Hitman 2 pages (there, here). The textual content is copied down to the formatting issue in the gameplay section (I assume this is caused by the recent site transfer?)

Oh boy, here we go again.

Reading their Terms of Use, they say they are not responsible for any content that is uploaded. That responsibility is solely on the shoulders of the person who uploaded said content. They also say that they don't control the content that is posted and, as such, does not guarantee the accuracy, integrity or quality of such content.

Does this mean Giant Bomb have hit it big time, when other sites keep copying our content?

This again? Meh, there's nothing to prove that users didn't do this off that bat. I'll take a quick around though.

Buckling in for potentially another fun ride! At least this will remind people of the HuffingtonPost article still being up

I will say I discovered this after signing up to see what it was all about ... and as of yet I have not seen anywhere to let you edit the textual content of the page, I'm fine with details of games, companies, etc that cant be classed as plagiarism such as the developers, characters, etc... but the overview, etc... it looks just blatantly lifted.

Hahaha, just did some digging.. check out this page http://duxter.com/hub/platform/CA475C48-DC6D-E49E-E496-1F6AB01E5A2B/playstation-3/#overview

And view the source, they are hotlinking giantbomb:

"<h3>20 GB Model (discontinued)</h3><img src="http://static.giantbomb.com/uploads/scale_small/1/15553/820249-playstation_3.png">The Original PlayStation 3 ( non 20gb model)<p>The 20 GB was available at launch in Japan on November 11th 2006, in North America on November 17th 2006.The 20 GB PS3 has a slot loading 2x speed Blu-ray Disc drive that plays Blu-ray movies, DVDs, CDs, and SACDs. It has built-in Bluetooth 2.0, a Gigabit Ethernet port, 4 USB 2.0 ports, and HDMI 1.3a. The 20GB PS3 also has backwards compatibility with PlayStation 1 &amp; 2 titles through hardware emulation. The 20GB PS3 had an MSRP of $499.99 USD. It was discontinued on April 11th, 2007 due to poor sales compared to the 60 GB.</p>"

I seriously doubt these are the only two, they are just the two we know about.

My guess is this has been happening longer and more often than we probably realize.

Nice, word for word, picture for picture.

Man, this is making me want to write more on the wiki so I can see it plagiarized. Why doesn't anybody steal image galleries?

#23 Edited by dapsycho (5 posts) -

@kurtdyoung: I have no connection with this site... TBH I run another Video Game website - One which any GB Admin with access to my email address can see... and as part of our redesign I have been checking out the competition so to speak... and as im a member of GB I thought Id let everyone know of the blatant copying going on in other places.... which I might add.. I am of course against..

Oh... Your activity feed gives away your missing message... Bug with GB I guess - lol :)

#24 Edited by CastroCasper (1301 posts) -

@dapsycho: Oh I'm just pointing out another example. I'm not accusing you or anyone. Also, I deleted the first post so I didn't have two in a row, and it didn't really add anything. Good to know though about the feed :)
