E3 2012 predictions thread

So E3 is, what, like 2 weeks away now. I haven't seen this come up anywhere yet so I thought I'd make it. I'm getting overhyped for E3 and want to talk about it. SO go ahead and post your predictions and or hopes for this year.

• Mirrors Edge 2 announcement
• BG&E re-unveiling
• Microsoft has their first good conference since 09 (List that as a hope)
• Everyone teases about new consoles but doesn't actually say anything
• I also predict that anytime someone messes up their line I will cringe.
• Any and all simulated families will be awful

That's it for me so far, I'm not big on making predictions because they're usually just desires and not in anyway likely.

Also, are the mods planning on having another banner contest this year? I had a lot of fun voting on them last year.

• Nintendo will announce Retro's latest project. It is not the crazy Metroid/Star Fox crossover being rumored, but it is related to one of the two franchises.
• Pikmin 3 is shown in trailer form, at he very least.
• The Last Guardian will not be shown.
• Konami will unveil a new Castlevania game.
• Microsoft will continue to push the Kinect hard.
• I will not watch any of the press conferences live, because I have to be at work.
• Nintendo will announce at least one new IP for either the 3DS or Wii U.
• Sony will dedicate at least ten minutes of their press conference to PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
• Nintendo will unveil something related to their next Smash Bros. game.

And finally:

• Capcom will formally apologize to the alienated members of their fanbase by offering to send out gifts to individuals that apply for their thank you program. These gifts will come in the form of sexual favors performed by a man or woman dressed as the Capcom character of the individual customer's choice.

Gameplay of The Last of Us. The next games from Sucker Punch, Epic Games, and Bungie.

Regie will come out with a giant Master Sword and kill everyone.

Microsoft will only show 95% kinect games and will close with the new halo.

Nintendo will start off with a few new titles for the 3ds and maybe a price drop. The rest will be all WiiU related stuff and I'd say at least one title from each of their major franchises for it (Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Pikmin, Star Fox).

Sony will announce some new HD collections, new vita games, a few first and second party titles (God of War, Last of Us, Battle Royal, Sucker Punch game) and close with Last Guardian.

GTA V trailer could be at either Sony or Microsoft, and I'm going to guess Half Life 3 reveal at Sony's conference.

I'm thinking this will be a slow year, 4-5 big games for sony & MS, big halo push. Don't think we will get any mention of new hardware in the conferences, but I'm sure they will do a lot of behind closed doors looks at the new systems and that will be all the press talks about.

Nintendo fails to announce that Fire Emblem Kakusei is coming to North America. Instead, during the press conference Reggie gives everyone the finger and tells us to "forget about that F-Zero game too". The rest of the press conference consists of New Super Mario Bros 2 and ends with a teaser trailer for some sort of Zelda game that won't come out for 3 years. Also, minigame compilations are discussed.

Sony does not show the PS4 and instead tries to convince us that the Vita is relevant. None of the move demos will top that of Medieval Moves: Deadmund's Quest.

EA talks about how Bioware isn't just a studio in Edmonton anymore: It's a brand. The doctors come out and make a joke about the Mass Effect 3 ending. Command and Conquer Generals 2 has a surprisingly impressive showing. Medal of Honor 2 is announced. No one cares.

Ubisoft somehow hires a competent MC, but the only Assassin's Creed III footage we get to see is yet another prerendered trailer. Alternatively, Mr. Caffeine comes back, makes a bunch of self-aware but not nearly self-aware enough jokes about how annoying he is.

Microsoft does not show Next Xbox. Some Kinect bullshit probably. Call of Duty Black Ops 2?

Just because the prediction isn't serious doesn't mean that it won't come true!

I want to see Valve come out for the last part of the Sony Conference to show a extremely short trailer of Half Life 3 in development for the Next Generation PlayStation coming out next year.

That would be awesome.

I would put money on Just Cause 3 and a Ratchet and Clank Game for Vita.

I haven't really thought about it too much, I think I'm going to avoid news outlets prior to the conferences though so I can hopefully be surprised by something.

A new Valkyria Chronicles (like an actual one, not some PSP/Vita shit) would make me high-5 myself.

But seriously, I think we will see more Wii U stuff, GTA V will have at least a trailer and hopefully a bit more and maybe a slight chance of Sony and Microsoft giving some sort of teaser about next gen. Not talking about it or anything like that but maybe a logo or something right at the end of one of their press conferences.

I will steal the Grantland model: Safe Bet (something you are pretty sure will happen), Good Bet (something that you think will happen but you can get good betting odds) and a Long Shot (self-explanatory)

Nintendo

Safe Bet: WiiU comes out for $299 with WiiU Sports

Good Bet: We finally find out what Retro is doing, and it is new WiiU IP.

Long Shot: Mushroom Kingdom Hearts, making the EGM rumor true.

Sony

Safe Bet: More Vita games that look like crappy versions of PS3 games

Good Bet: We get some PS4 info. No specs, no box, but some teasers and a date (Fall 13)

Long Shot: We see a new Kojima game, and it is not Metal Gear.

Microsoft:

Safe Bet: There will be a Kinect game that makes people excited about their connect.

Good Bet: GTAV will be here, and will have FIrst On 360 DLC

Long Shot: Diablo III, sans real-money auction house.

I expect that due to the fact that the next Xbox and Playstation won't be announced I expect people won't give a shit at record highs.

I'd think Valve would want to put HL3 in consoles, and if they do, they'd choose a time when it is most profitable.

My guesses will be

• Microsoft will pimp the hell out of cross media stuff
• Sony will announce something for the Vita
• Smash Bros will at most, be a series of screenshots
• Jonathan Blow's game will find a console home
• Overstrike release date, March 2013
• We won't see anything out of Respawn
• Dance Central 3, now with pro dance mode
• Ubisoft's host will be "amazing"
• The triumphant return of Kentia Hall

And most importantly E3 Mysteries will be

Microsoft and Sony will stall for time by pushing motion tech and exclusives because they have no next gen stuff ready to show off, and Nintendo will go mad over the Wii U. I swear to god if there's no HL3 news I'm going to go defcon 5, its getting silly now.

I just wanna say this thread popped up like 2-3 weeks ago......

I predict that there will be a lot of fanbois hating on the competition!  
So like Microsoft fanbois will be hating on Sony and Nintendo, and so on.  
 
Also, a lot of developers talking about how "the consumers can help them make games" by using Kickstarter. 

Overstrike. I would love more information about that game.

And support for 2 wiiU tablets would be awesome, but would be the longest of shots.

I hope it's full of news that no one could have possibly predicted. I just hope everything doesn't get spoiled ahead of time like it always does. Makes E3 a lot less interesting when it does.

No PS4 or 360 2, they clearly aren't coming this year and it would undermine their current stuff too much. Sony will focus on the Vita and cross platform play, where as Microsoft will still try and push Kinect and their media stuff. Maybe they'll surprise us, but I think Microsoft's conference is going to be a barren wasteland. Halo 4 and a predictable GTA V exclusive will be the only saving graces.

Nintendo have the Wii U and 3DS to continue selling. I predict we'll see more franchise revivals too. Starfox and F-zero, maybe. I imagine we'll finally see Pikmin 3 and probably some new Pokemon stuff, as it's the first time the US/EU release has been pretty close to the Japanese launch.

Sega will hype Shenmue re-release for XBLA/Steam/PSN.

New Mirrors Edge, Burnout Planet and Condemed confirmed launch titles for Xbox 720 also Xbox 720 as the official name.

Noone will care about the Wii-U as the new Xbox will drop a bomb on their conference the next day, and the Wii U will just be another 7 year old console.

The only thing shown for GTA V will be a new trailer.

Sony & MS already said they wouldn't. They can't come out now and tease something outright. Someone pointed out elsewhere that they're publicly traded companies and would effectively be lying to their investors if they both say "we won't mention the new consoles" and then go out and do the opposite.

And Nintendo won't tease anything, they'll have their full blowout of info (except for price and date). That's fact.

I predict:

• Some 1st party will have either a GTA V trailer or short stage demo. I'd bet on MS cause they love to throw their money around for stuff like this
• No console CoD on-tage demo this year.
• Sony won't show Last Guardian during their conference (I believe that's a TGS game)
• Nintendo will have one "OH HOLY SHIT!" moment concerning a 3rd party IP coming to Wii U
• MS will talk a lot about Xbox Live/Kinect features again
• Long Halo 4 stage demo
• Pikmin 3 OR Retro's new game demoed on stage
• Kojima reveals his new game on the new engine from last year
• new Splinter Cell demo with Jade Raymond on stage at either UBI oder Sony briefing
• Nintendo will mess up one big thing about the Wii U presentation
• Sony might finally show Agent (their Rockstar exclusive game, in development since forever)
• Final Fantasy Versus XIII gets shown, jumps ship to multiplat (at least Wii U)
• Microsoft has something (trailer, short demo, logo?) from Respawn's first game during their press conference.
• Sony tries its best to save the Vita, shows lots of "and it's ALSO on the Vita" crossover games. + CoD-Vita stage demo
