As some of you might know, June 6th is the start of E3. It also happens to be Apple's WWDC, also known as Apple's E3, it's a really big deal when media outlets from all over the world see what Apple has in store for the next year. It's bigger than CES lately. Random fact, Apple also does minor ones during Jan and Sept for their ipods and other devices.
Anyways, Apple has a big WWDC this year. It's their biggest one for quite a few reasons:
- OSX turns 10 years old, and OSX Lion is out a few weeks after or on WWDC.
- Apple has been wanting to get into gaming, and they have big plans lined up due to all the poaching of EA and other employees.
- Apple has been booming, trust me...I own real Apple stock and these past few years have been amazing.
- iPhone 5 and Apple TV 3, and iOS 5
No one thought Microsoft could do well in the gaming industry at the time, no one thought Sony could do it either. Apple already has handsets in the hands of 100s of millions, and all they'd need is a solid foundation.
So gentlemen (and Ladies), could the big surprise from Apple be that they are going to be a serious contender for gaming? A lot of the signs are showing that's what Apple wants to do, and they already won half the battle.
Apple at WWDC and E3. Sound crazy?
