EGM Dan Hsu is back.
"Both will continue to operate their successful Bitmob.com website while overseeing the reporting and writing of news and other content for EGM’s network of properties"
I'm definitely interested to see where this new EGM stuff goes. I loved the old magazine as much as anyone, but I don't really see how anyone could justify starting up a new magazine operation now when print media is hemorrhaging money and dying an extremely quick death.
Bitmob is cool so I'm glad. Isn't EGM like online only now? Am I wrong?" "Both will continue to operate their successful Bitmob.com website while overseeing the reporting and writing of news and other content for EGM’s network of properties" "
@Shini4444: But not the same company right?

" @ryanwho said:Right. So." Whatsa happen to bitmob? "They are still going to be running it. It seems like the new EGM will basically be bitmob's companion magazine, since both are going to have the same staff. "
Why not call Bitmob EGM online if its basically EGM online? I didn't think the place would shut down, I just kind of assumed it would become the online component for EGM, because having EGM online and bitmob when the staff for both are the same seems sort of redundant.
And so the world takes one more step towards being right again.
It's like the A-Team of game journalists is being assembled to make this magazine, in fact every first issue should come with the theme to put everyone in the right mood.
So...yeah. It seems to be a "throw everything and see what sticks" approach. I have a feeling that Steve Harris just saw the EGM died and some part of him didn't want to let that happen.

I agree it sounds risky. At least Hsu has the advantage of knowing what not to do with a print mag. He seems to have a pretty deep understanding of the problems that plauged the EGM Ziff Davis business and hopefully can avoid them." I'm definitely interested to see where this new EGM stuff goes. All i know is that EGM went under and my subscription till 2018 *mostly free* went to a maxim magazine sub which i did not want...which i have thus canceled...

SEAN "SEANBABY" REILEY JOINS EGM "
This just keeps on getting better.
Great news! Between Bitmob and Area5 they will have some well known PC editors over at the new EGM. I love me some Giantbomb but to be honest PC is already dead to most of the editors here, it will be nice if EGM can succeed and maintain balance coverage of all platforms and not just the platforms that give out gamer points.
