Dunno, its definitely a studio set up. Maybe hes just kidding around because of the advertisements.

It's the premium thing, 'cause they said it was being sponsored by Squarespace.

Weird theres no mention of it in the PAX post and I dont recall them talking about it. It's gonna be at like 4am my time though, if its at 11:00 over there. Guess I will watch the archive :(

They've mentioned a Premium thing on Friday night a couple times during the week. That's all they've said though. I'm really curious as to what it is too. I don't know if it's a livestream or the members only thing for people there? They really did not give much of any information at all on this.

We'll be having a little get-together on Friday the 29th at Metropole, a restaurant near the Seattle Convention Center. If you RSVPed, you should've gotten an email about this already to confirm your spot. (Subject line was "Giant Bomb Premium PAX Party - Complete your RSVP!" Check your spam filter if you missed it.) If you were on the wait list, we'll reach out to you no later than Thursday night about attendance. If you didn't get on the list or the waitlist, we'll let you know via the Giant Bomb twitter shortly before the event begins if there's any extra room, but it's a pretty tight space and it's likely we'll be full. If you can't attend, we'll be streaming the event in our chat room, starting around 9 PM Pacific on Friday night, and if you can't catch the stream, we'll have the archive up sometime in following few days.

In other words, it's the stream of the Premium meet-up, probably with interviews of different people and whatnot. I doubt the stream itself will be Premium though, they've made it sound like it can be watched by everyone. My guess is that Danny is referring to the people attending being Premium members when he's saying "tonight's Premium show".

Well, I'm glad it's getting archived. That set looks nice by the way.

Not sure how I feel about a premium show with square space emblazoned on the set. Actually, I don't really care. it's just weird to see it.

Edit: also, seems like theyre making a huge push towards getting more premium subscribers. The front page is showcasing premium stuff way more than it used to (go incognito/log out to see what it looks like).

Despite Danny's tweet, I'm still pretty sure that the stream itself won't be Premium. They've made it sound all week like it will be available for everyone, it's just that attending the event itself is just for Premium members.

They probably won't upload it before Monday/Tuesday, but remember that the GB live player lets you watch the latest stream on demand before it's uploaded on the site: http://www.giantbomb.com/videos/embed/8635/?allow_gb=yes&ad_campaign_id=8635. So we Europeans can watch the stream tomorrow!

All types of journalism has advertisers. "I don't know how I feel about this..." really? This is just them stepping up the game. They are making the site bigger and they need money to do so.

Jeff talked on one of his drives on Mixlr that the sponsorship is essentially the reason they can have the event. The money they bring in with the sponsorship offsets the cost of renting the space, etc.

So you either get an event with sponsor logos, or no event.

This is a business after all, so I have no problem with it.

@TruthTellah I think its great too. I trust GB to handle sponsorship and advertising tastefully, and if it means more events like this, I am all for it.
